Seriously considering the subject handgun for EDC. I have physically handled this model and fit is good for my hand, etc.
My LGS have no inventory, so it would be an order and wait deal. This model is obviously highly popular which explains inventory and firm pricing levels.
Are there other brands/ models which are also easy to conceal, fire well, etc that I ought consider?

S&W Shield Plus
Springfield Hellcat Pro

They are similar in size and capacity . I have heard nothing but good things on the S&W trigger .

Agree with the above. I have not shot the Hellcat Pro, but I shot the original Hellcat and liked it.

I also haven't shot the Shield plus, but I dry fired one on a display and liked the way it felt in hand. There is the Walther PDP SC, which also feels good in hand and has a nice trigger. My son bought a Canik TP9 Elite SC and it too has a nice trigger.

Lots of options these days.

Also Glock 43x or 48, though you do lose two rounds.

I like my 365xl, I tried all the others and the Sig won out, though I’ll admit the ease of mounting my desired optic without needing to buy extra plates was a factor.

I tried the P365XL a couple months back and was impressed with how well I could shoot it and it was a pretty soft shooter too. Strongly considering one for myself. The Shield Plus is another good choice BUT you need an extended magazine to get the extra rounds while the P365XL has 12 rounds in flush fit magazine and still very concealable.

Kinda surprised to hear they don't have any 365s..they seem to be in abundance everywhere around me. The XL is a solid choice, I have the X w/ shorter slide and find it more enjoyable to shoot than the XL for whatever reason, but if it fits the hand well - go for it. The Hellcat is nice too, especially the Pro. Problem for me is, I get a weird pinch from the grip on both of them that I don't experience with the 365s.

It might be way harder to find in the flesh, but Shadow Systems came out with a baby 9mm, Glock 43 sized with 10/13 capacity. https://shadowsystemscorp.com/cr920/

The "Concealable 9mm Pistol" field is pretty crowded these days. I CC a Shield+, but I've carried a Shield of some flavor or another for about 5 years. As you might guess, I'm a fan of the Shield line. With that said, and AFAIK, there's nothing wrong with the X365 line, Hellcats, Glocks, Mossbergs, etc., either.

My LGS went from having 2-3 of each kind of 365, to only, occasionally, having one only.
Ditto the gun show circuit, too.
I think I was perhaps 5 or 6 at the entire FW Gun Show this last w/e.

Now, SIG is also busy pushing their 380 version out the door, too.

For OP, I'd probably check in with the LGS and involve them in this process. My LGS is happy to process transfers; they are even happier if I give them to opportunity to try for their best deal.

Agree, if they do transfers then some place like grabagun is pretty easy to order from.

Yeah. I went to the bossfella and said, hey, I see that Bud's has [item I want], can you check around and see if you can get me a better deal? I'd rather my local got the markup than some far-off place. And, bossfella will call me and say, they can't do better than Buds, so we'll handle the transfer. So, all good.

I sold my Shield to finance my 365xl purchase. I have no regrets. It is super concealable in a Vedder holster. It fits my smaller hands like a glove.

I have a P365XL and a Shield Plus...love them both! I think the Shield's trigger has the edge, but they're both pretty sweet. I shoot them equally well.

What do you consider easy to conceal? For me, an EDC gun would have to be one that I would carry every day. Have you carried in the past? If so, what was your comfort level? Shorter barrel-more height on grip (Sig 365X). shorter grip-less grip height (Sig P365) or longer barrel-more grip height (Sig 365XL). I used the Sig 365 variations because that is what I have right now. The P365 (3.1" barrel 10 round mag) gets carried IWB everyday because the shorter barrel-shorter grip combo works best for me (pretty hot here in AZ). The 365X (3.1"barrel XL frame with 12 round mag) sees occasional use and the XL (3.6" barrel with 12 round mag/Holosun 507/Streamlight TLR-6) is designated for pistol HD. The other pistols mentioned earlier would also be good choices.

In my state printing/concealibility is a real concern. So:
1 is conceal ability, 2 is fit/feel, third is availability. I’d pick a platform that is easily concealable, check to ensure it fit’s my hand and points well, then try to purchase it. That being said, get a gun and carry it, if it’s your primary choice great.
“ 90% of success is just showing up”

Hope it's not too late to jump on the SIG P365 bandwagon! Tried the various different models and went with the P365X. I really liked it's slightly longer grip over the standard length version found on the P365. It just fit my smaller size hand perfectly!

My wife and I both carry Sig 365's with the thumb safety. I considered the XL, but wanted the versatility of having the shorter barrel. Real world, the 1/2" shorter barrel has no effect on accuracy, but can be more concealable. I have the option of 10 round magazines for max concealability, or 12 round magazines for a larger grip. Which does aid accuracy.

I actually want both a P365 and a P365XL. I bought a P365 and installed the XL grip module, which overall seems to be a good choice for me. I much prefer the taller XL grip module in my hand.

However, as the weather changes, or my activities change, I find that sometimes carrying with the shorter P365 would work best, and at other times I could carry the P365XL with it's longer slide and taller grip module. It's possible there may even be situation where carrying a P365XL with a shorter P365 grip module would work best.

When my budget allows I'll buy a P365XL.

I suppose I could start an "Only Fans" account to make some extra cash. Maybe people would PAY me to keep my clothes ON!
