If I buy Starline brass, they say to use .308 diameter bullets,
I searched around, where does one find .308 in 86-90 grain, OTHER than the high priced spread like Nosler or XTPS??
Heck, coated load would be fine and plated as a last resort.

Thanks

You need to slug your barrel, the Cz 52's I've seen are usually around .310. Mine happens to be .3096 and I have loaded some .308 bullets that worked, but with a definite loss of accuracy.
I used some vintage Hornady 110gr Hp I had and they had to be seated deep.
I bought some 7.62 bullets from Everglades a few months back, but they may be out.

Nosler makes a bullet like this???

My CZ has a new replacement stainless barrel, The ammo I am shooting is Bulgarian surplus (corrosive primers) the FMJ bullet is .308 and very accurate for what it is.

PPU and Sierra make a Tok bullet. I"ve also heard that 30 Mauser bullets will work. I have a lot of com block pistols, it's a thing for me. The bores are all over the place on Toks, .306 to .311. I'd resize the new Starline out of the gate. .308 bullets will work fine, and no doubt .306 and .310 will also work fine. These aren't match grade pistols, and I highly suspect most wouldn't notice a difference in accuracy with a slightly underbore bullet. I'd guess Starline is worried about neck tension in the smaller bullet diameters, should be ok if you resize the brass before starting, but the kinetic hammer test will be the final proof with a .306 bullet there, and of course a plunk test with a finished round will show whether or not a .310 bullet will work for you. Lot of guys run 30 Carbine bullets in their toks, but you'd likely have to work up the load data yourself.

Know of any less expensive bullets than Sierra? PPU sells components?

Yep, PPU sells components. You can usually find them at Grafs, but the normal places carry them as well...midway, midsouth shooters, etc. IIRC, both Berry's and Xtreme have a plated 30 Carbine 110 grain bullet in .308 that will work, but that's heavy for caliber and you'll have to work that up yourself.

Know of any plated or coated lead bullets, .20-30 cents a bullet is nuts for this gun.:what:
But then I have not bought components for a long time.

The only plated I know of are the ones referenced above for 30 carbine. And yes, components are outrageous. Very few people load for the Tok because ammo has been so cheap for it in the past.

You can compare the value of getting started in it to the current prices of ammo. Tok is definitely "worth" reloading right now, if you have the stuff on hand, but may be a break even if you are just getting started.

current price example:

I’ve used 110 grn because I already load for M-1 carbine. Believe I read an article about in Handloader mag.
There is also a 100 grn bullet, I think it’s called a plinker. It has a soft tip lead nose.
Side note, it is one of the most difficult rounds I load.

I have a lot of those I could use, seems like a heavy for caliber as they say. (FMJRN)

Still have a spam can of Bulgarian corrosive ammo (86 gr) I can use,but don't know if they will just fizzle. Have had some duds from an opened package. Use them in my Yugo 57 which shoots like a shotgun, never know where the bullets goes:scrutiny: The cases are brass but Berdan primed Bullets have some steel in them
Hate cleaning after corrosive ammo.

A bigger issue is trying to find the brass, the CZ ejects into the next time zone. Never had a handgun that ejects so far!, At least 20 feet straight back which ends up in the parking lot of our range, If it went sideways it would still be on the range concrete.

You could try pulling the bullets from those unless they have those three "dents" they used to secure the bullets. Never did have much luck with those. I doubt Starline has any in stock now but you can use either the .30 Mauser or the 7.625, they make both, or they used to.

Speer makes a half jacket 308 110 gr. I used data from an article. I don't recall what it was. But 110 grain plated works well.

Rule,
Hornady also has (had) 86 gr Soft Point Round Nose, if you can find it. I picked up 500 from Grafs some time ago. And, yes, as many have said, PPU sells components, they are one of the few sources for brass for the old (metric) milsurps. As mentioned PPU also offers the 85 Gr JHP. I picked up some of those from Grafs as well.
Yeah the CZ52 and the M57 launch brass into the next time zone.
MBC has 32 cal bullets for the 32 H&R Mag, at 78 grains that may work if your bore is on the larger side.
I have a 30 cal mould at 78 grains that is meant for the Tok. I've cast some, but haven't gotten to loading them yet.
Speer also has a 100 gr 30 cal bullet Semi Jacket Round Nose. You may be able to make those work. I have some I'd be willing to share with you.

I have a C96 Mauser with a very worn barrel. Factory 7,63 Mauser and 7.62 Tokarev are all over the 25 yd pistol target with some bullets leaving keyholes. Handloads with .312" .32 caliber revolver bullets shoot fine in the C96 but they won't chamber in my CZ52.

I have some boxes of Perfomace and Hunter Supply 95gr l FN bullets that are .313 hard cast for my 327 Fed Mag

Wonder if those can be resized (down to .308) or is that to much??

If so it would be cheaper to buy a Lee resizing die??

Heck these are only .06 cents a bullet!!

Rule,
Try the 313 in the CZ as is. See if it chambers. If not, then you should be able to size them down to .310 or .309. And using the Lee push through sizer would be the ticket. PM me your info and I'll send you some of those Speers I mentioned above. When I next fire up the casting pot, I'll pour some of the 85 grainers and can send you some as well.

I slugged it yesterday and it is a TIGHT .308 (new stainless barrel)

Thank you for the offer, I have the Spam can of ammo left so will let you know in the future if the need comes up. Appreciate the offer very much.:)

I gave up on bullets and powders about 18 months ago. Looks like "sold out" is a common term in the reloading market. Alas!
