My biggest obstacle to tiny groups is my lazy Dad who would rather watch and play golf than spend the 8 hours a day I ask on reloading. I tell him, since he is retired he should be spending twice as much time reloading, not less.
I find that as I continue to refine my skills at the load bench along with some careful practice that my groups are getting smaller and smaller Now that may mean that My Ammo is Tailored to My Rifle and won’t shoot as well in other rifles if that’s the case then so be it!
I make sure to stay hydrated and go to the bathroom. I’m messed up more than one load development session by holding it all day, or getting overly hot and not stepping back to take a sip.
My secret was to let my little brother shoot the gun. He had an uncanny ability to wring the best group out of a rifle or handgun. I could kick his azz at trap, skeet, quail, rabbit or pheasant. We have our limitations and our talents.
