Ok, so Brownell's teased this image today asking to "guess the caliber."

So, first thing is that's clearly a Weatherby belted magnum case either blown out or trimmed.
And the projectile looks like one of the elegant high-BC 7mms.
The 460wbymg is also the 375, if memory serves. But 7-460 sounds cooler [:)]

Anyone else keen to guess?

here a thing… How are you going to Neck that 2x4 into a 1/2” dowel? that’s not physical possable

That’s not a Weatherby or any other conventional belted magnum case. The belt is too thin and the extractor groove is too wide.

Yeah, that case is spinning me for a loop. The 20, 25, & 30 mm "cannon" case are not belted, the case head is strong enough as is.
And they have deliberately not given us anything that offers scale to compare to.

(Oh, yeah, this is entirely a goof, and Brownell's meant it that way--but, my curiosity on that case dug in hard enough to pose the question.)

Did Jeffries or Gibbs "do" belted cases?

That rim seems a lot more rebated, and the belt a tad skinny--but, neither photo has a lot of scale information where it counts.
.50mbp down to that 23mm case would probably have the "look"
The 23x115 has a 26mm base.
The 23x152 has a 38mm base diameter.

The latter could be pretty likely given the proportions of a 12.7 bullet versus a 38mm base.

At the club we would play a game, guess the gun and we would pick guns from movies. One that would stick people is the gun Joe Kidd has.

Hard to tell from this pic

But the video, While not common, much more easy.
