What was your first gun and do you still have it (them)?

Mine was a Savage 24 22LR/20 gauge. It was my Christmas present in 7th grade. I still have it (and always will) but it was honestly one of the most disappointing firearms I’ve ever owned.

Same here. It was a Christmas present when I was 13 or 14. It was a great rabbit gun.
I haven’t shot it in years but it’s in the safe.

My first gun was a BB gun when I was about 11 years old. My first real gun was my grandfather's Winchester Model 97 12-gauge that was passed down to me in the late 1970s. It was purchased new in the 1950s before I was born. I still have it and it will be passed down to my son.

My great uncle gave me his Springfield 45/70 (trap door) that he caried in Cuba with the Iowa National Guard when I was 10yers old. I have taken several deer, elk, one American Bison with it and still shoot it. Black powder only. I also have his Colt army 45. They will go to my grandson.

Winchester Model 190 Semi-Auto 22LR my dad bought for me when I was about 10. And I still have it. I'm currently in the process of refinishing it. It still runs great but could use a little refurbishing. My dad has been in Heaven some 20 years now. The rifle was not the most expensive and it's not worth a whole lot on the used market, but the sentimental value is priceless. I'll never part with it.

I've got it broken down at the moment, so I can't take a pic of it. Here's a stock photo. I really love the classic look and feel. I believe it was made in the late 1960s

I think it was a Winchester Model 190 .22 and yes I still have it. I bought it at a flea market when I was about 15. My father was with me as the fellow would not sell it to a minor. I think I paid $60 for it, a case, and 300 rounds of ammo. My first shotgun was around the same time, perhaps a little earlier. It was a Mossberg bolt action shotgun in 16 gage. My father had thrown it away a dozen or so years earlier and my uncle salvaged it and later gave it to me as my first hunting shotgun. I still have it as well.

Numerous BB guns one Crossman .22 pellet gun then 1960 a Nobel 16 gauge shotgun. I believe from sears. No, I do not have that gun. I traded for a stevens SXS 12, which I still have. 1968 First pistol Colt huntsman .22 LR. I still have that one.

My Dad bought me a Mossberg 283-TB .410 bolt action as a Christmas gift in 1973. I was 12. I literally could have filled the bed of our old International pickup with the squirrels I killed by the time I graduated from high school. We ate a lot of squirrel. And yes, I still have it. I carried it in a rack in the old truck all the time. The stock is bleached to a blond color and it doesn't have much blueing left but its still a squirrel killer. I take it out at least once a year for a workout.

This topic comes up from time to time. First gun was a gift from a close friend of my uncle. I was 8 years old in 1958 and the gun was a Remington Model 510P Targetmaster, a single shot 22. Today at 72 I still have that rifle, some 64 years later.

The gun I have owned the longest is this Walther LP-53 that I traded for 50 years ago. Most folks recognize it from the James Bond poster. The first firearm I ever bought was a Glenfield Marlin Model 60. It's sitting in the corner.

As a side note the JB 007 collection has grown significantly since then. 9C669EA7-DBCB-48D5-9319-58DA895720CC.jpeg

Hi...
Bought a pump action .22LR at a hardware store in the '69-70 time frame when I was 15 or 16. Don't remember what I paid for it. Shot thousands of rounds through it. Still have it...don't shoot it very often anymore, probably no more than 50-100 rounds in the last 40 years.
Moved on to handguns and it just doesn't get shot...always a new handgun to shoot or a new handload to test in a larger bore rifle.

CZ 75B, and a Glock G 17 gen 4, both bought at the same time, in the beginning of 2020, before the pandemic and just starting out in this sport, at different places, still have both, and hope to never sell either one.
