Have you given away anything gun related recently?

In the last year or so I have gifted several posters on various forums some reloading gear, brass, and bullets. Enough to get them by for now. Also set up several new reloaders locally with brass, bullets primers, and propellant to help them reload some much needed ammo. Also various reloading items, lead, and lessons of how to reload or cast.
Being able to pass on the knowledge is what it is all about. Someone taught me so now its my turn to pass it on.

It wasn't "given away", but I sold a friend 3 boxes each of 32acp and 9x18 Makarov, for $60 total. That's $10 a box, which is less than what I paid back when things were good.

My cousin gave me a suicide special that was passed thru on his side of the family...(a actual suicide gun too) his great gramma married into a family that the father had used it once :what: rest his soul, consumption they believe.

Were good...

I gave one of those Hoppes (or whoever makes it) nest rests to a young guy who was trying to rest a brand new rifle on top of an ammo can to sight it in. It may or may not have been a good deed, just happened I saw him right before I threw it in the garbage.

For whatever reason people seem to get offended if you mention eyepro, so kind of gave up on that. People do accept and use ear pro.

I've seen this.
I have given out a lot of earplugs and several pairs of glasses.
The glasses did not always get used.

Does it count that I sold a friend some primers for less than half the panicdemic price?

My protege has several more magazines than came with her guns and I have my eye on a couple more.

Gave my eldest son my Browning Super posed Lightning. He said he wanted a "real" trap gun, tried it out and liked it. Asked me how much and I told him $800. (bargain). He showed up with the money a couple months later along with a hard case. After he had cased the gun and handed me the money I handed it back and told him to buy a bunch of shells after p he takes his girlfriend to dinner. I told him that if he was willing to pay for his interest the least I could do was help him succeed. BTW, he is beating me once in a while and I'm still fairly competetive. (96% ave last season).

Grandson ,21 yr old, helped me put in a bathroom faucet. I asked him if he wanted to be paid in cash or ammo. He said he didn't know. Took half an hour so I paid him 20 bucks and five boxes of red army ammo for his AK 47 he recently acquired. He liked it and I got to teach him how to replace a faucet.

The other day I "gave"my son a H&R 410 that I "bought" for him somewhere around 30 years ago. Then, a few years later his first wife started crying because she didn't like guns in the house so I "bought" it back from him. Then, a couple years later his first wife split from him so I "gave" it back. Then, some years later his second wife decided she didn't like guns in the house either so I "bought" it back. Well now I "gave" it back hopefully for the last time. If I have to "buy" it back many more times that cheap little 410 is going to turn out to be the most expensive gun I own. Or, don't own.

Made me laugh with that one, tws.
But I shudder to think how expensive it must be for your son to change his marital status. My oldest is familiar with that process.
Hope the latest one works out well for him.

Yup. Gas Checks and cast bullets to a buddy, soft point X54R ammo to another buddy (all he had was FMJ, trying to set him up so he can hunt with his Mosins) and some other sundry odds and ends. Just trying to help out.

The only thing recently was a box of 22 cal. Federal Gold Medal Match ammo to my mailman. Scott has a new match rifle and was testing ammo. He hadn't tried the Federal so I gave him a box.

It has been several years since I have given a gun away. My son-in-law has a Winchester SX-1 12ga and a Savage 10 in 243 that I gave him when he first started to shoot.

Had my son over today. Lined up all my .22 rifles. Said pick one, then left the room. Of the 9, He choose my Ruger 10/22 that looks like an M1 carbine. He didn’t even look at the CZ.
My son would have said "OK Dad, thanks" then as soon as I left he would have picked one to STAY and took the other eight home before I came back!
