What's the most accurate 9mm?

Of the 9’s I own and have owned in the past, my tuned 75th anniversary Browning Hi Power is by far my most accurate. My wife loves shooting it too.

My STI Trojan 9mm 1911 is a lot more accurate than I am, but I always love shooting it, and I do pretty good with it when I’m doing my part.

We had a concrete and steel Ransom Rest base at the Old Range. FLG and I once set up a good 1911 and laid it every shot with a scope sight in V blocks. It went from good to great vs regular Ransom operation.

Mine is indirectly mounted in concrete, the posts are, I bolted it across the corner of the steel pipe fence.

I have also used scoped handguns in it. To compare the Original Ransom and their inserts with my machine rest and inserts.

This is the one I built, the earlier photo is a Ransom, target from mine.

^^ Those test results are based on 5 shot groups....no wonder they're good. And I would imagine each gun was 'cherry picked' by the manufacturer before it was submitted to the NRA. If you want valid accuracy tests, it's with 10 shot strings...like Morris did.
IMO, NRA gun reviews are little more than paid advertisements.

The NRA 25 yard slow fire target has a 1.51" Ten ring and a .67" X ring.
Since you only have to touch the ring to score, theoretically you could allow a bullet diameter if perfectly zeroed.

One thing I've noticed, and maybe it's just bad practices on my part, is that the first shot, and sometimes the second also, is a flyer. Usually lower than the rest of the shots. I'm sure it's caused by the shock of the first shot settling the pistol in the grip inserts. But it makes sense to toss the first 1 or two shots out since it's representative of the gun shifting and not of poor accuracy. I had my Ranson rest bolted to a 9000 lb metal lathe's headstock, no movement there. And even so my guns don't show the kind of accuracy the best examples do, but it's an interesting discussion.
On the super light triggers in autos, I've never seen a pistol with a set trigger, but that might eliminate doubling because of all the things that light triggers allow. How about a super hair trigger?

Now I expect someone to post a photo of an auto pistol with a set trigger, because I haven't seen it all of course.

It is quite usual to fire even a magazine full to seat the grip frame in the Ransom inserts. FLG was talking about milling inserts out of Delrin to see if he could get steadier then rubber.

I have not heard of an auto with a set trigger but some of the racegunners claim very light pulls, under 1.5 lb. Except for Free Pistol all the bullseye competitions have minimum trigger pulls. There is one European make that offers a choice of 2.2 or 3.3 lb triggers depending on which match you plan to shoot.

My issued Glock 17 with a RMR reflex sight. Still not happy with giving up the .40, but one can sure hit things at distance with the dot.

These results are also skewed depending on what pistol is being used.
For instance the Nighthawk Custom is being used in a Ransom Rest, and the Q5 is being fired by hand from a simple bench rest.
Hardly an equal comparison.

Exactly. The accuracy tests on the various pistols should be conducted under the same conditions and with many types of ammunition (always the same for all the pistols tested) to evaluate both a sort of average accuracy, and to find the best pistol/ammunition combination.

This is an interesting test that shows how a pistol (perhaps not the most accurate of the world ...) can go from mediocre results to excellent results simply thanks to the ammunition choice:

The most accurate 9mm handgun-

Maybe...Any 9mm handgun gun with which Jerry Miculek (or his daughter) has practiced a few times?

Holding a gun upside down when shooting, or right side up? Some of you watched Jerry shoot a handgun upside down, and set a record.

Notice how many people suggested the Sig 210.
