Got my Beretta 1301 Tactical almost finished!

I finally got a few more touches on my Beretta 1301 Tactical. First off I got the plastic sight and top rail removed and replaced with an Aridus CROM with an Aimpoint H1 on it. The CROM mounts the optic a lot lower than the stock rail, and the sight is a 1/2 ghost ring with the top cut off (Rob Haught mod). This allows the sights to perfectly co-witness through the optic body. Then I used a GG&G adapter to mount a Magpul SGA stock built for the Mossberg onto the Beretta. I love the SGA stock, best thing going IMO. I had one on my 590 and really loved it. The light is a Steiner that screws into the front of the mag tube.

I still do need to install the GG&G front sling loop, but I seem to have misplaced it. Once I find it I'll get a sling attached and be basically ready to go. Eventually I'd like to replace the bolt handle with one from GG&G or Briley, and replace the plastic bolt release with the aluminum one from Briley. Lastly I'm contemplating the Briley aluminum M-lok fore-end but I haven't decided; I really do like the stock one and would like to keep it light and sleek. For that reason I don't plan to get a +2 mag extension, just leave it as-is. But for now it's looking good! Almost there.:cool:

Those 1301 Tactical and Comp Pros are really nice. Unbelievably light and with the s factory stock and Kick Off option, not too bad to shoot the heavy stuff.

Interesting mod needed on the Magpul stock. I had seen plenty of 1301s with them but didn’t realize an adapter was needed. I like the factory stock with Kick Off well enough even though the plastic does feel a bit cheesy the kick off adds LOP so the spacers aren’t needed. I like the aggressive checkering on it.

What do you like about the Magpul?
 
Magpul only makes the SGA for the 870 and the 590, so other shotguns require an adapter. I love the shape of the SGA! The grip area is more vertical than the stock one, enabling a better grip under recoil. The comb is a bit higher and you can swap the riser for a taller one if necessary. And I like the way the spacers work. Lastly I like the sling mounting options (slot on both sides, knock-outs for QD sockets). It allows nice short LOP and it manages recoil better than the stock supplied. It is slightly heavier though. It's not a big deal but I also like Magpul colors. You can get the SGA in black or orange as well.

Sweet setup. I've been tempted to put an SGA on one of my shotguns and even though I like the way the magpul looks, I favor the look of a traditional stock but I'll probably eventually swap em out for the magpul.....
 
Wow it looks great, I was surprised when I saw all of the variations on Beretta's website. I had no idea they made a ribless barrel nickle plated marine version. Mine is the 21" ribbed barrel with just the bead, and synthetic stock, the standard 1301 comp. I put all the spacers in the stock as it felt strange short. I have shot a round of trap with it and despite the short barrel it swings and points nicely.
 
Looking back over my orders I guess the sling mount I thought I'd ordered was for my old 500 Mossberg. So I got the correct one ordered! Shouldn't be long now and I'll have 'er all set up.:cool:
 
Okay, pretty much done now! I got the sling hook adapter for the front and a Magpul QD stud for the stock. I'd still like to get an aluminum bolt handle & release from Briley to get the last cheap-feeling bits of plastic off the gun but overall I'm happy with how it's set up. Time to put a couple boxed of shells through 'er in this configuration.:cool:

I just picked up a used 1301T Marine the other day. Added the Magpul Stock/Aridus adapter last night. Gonna add a +2 tube and a sling and I’ll probably be done w it.

For those of you guys who shoot your Berettas a lot: Do you find them finicky about ammo or 100% reliable with anything you shove in them?
 
100% reliable even with cheap Walmart low brass.

That's why I chose it over the Benelli M4. I had both in my hands.

:) Interesting! I had both in my hands too (at different times) and found the M4 more reliable with every shot size and weight. Both are very nice shotguns but I went with what the Marines prefer-the M4. Worth the (much) extra money, imo.
 
I found the M4 to not like low brass. My reason to go with the 1301 was cheap training. Not saying the M4 was unreliable, just that the 1301 filled MY needs better.
