In the past year,I've really stepped up my pistol shooting game.It seems like all the bullets most of my rifles like are impossible to find,so I've had to cut back on shooting them.On the other hand,I've been finding good 9MM,10MM,44 and 45 bullets, and most of them are at great prices, especially the seconds that Midway sells. It takes only a little powder to make them go bang, and I have plenty of primers.
I have a couple of friends who are superb shots with the pistol who have coached me a little bit and my shooting has improved dramatically. We mostly shoot iron sighted carry or duty guns at different targets and at different distances. The latest challenge is to shoot at a human sillouette target at 25,50 and 100 yards standing unsupported. It's tough for me to say the least, but I can usually keep most of my shots in the 7 ring or better. This Sunday's targets will be water filled milk jugs at random locations and unknown yardage.
I'm having a blast, and my shooting gets better by the day.I miss shooting my long range rifles, but this new challenge is more than filling the void. What are some fun and challenging targets that you guys like to shoot at?We don't do much rapid fire,it's all aimed slow fire.

I really enjoy shooting my 100 yard 12 inch gong with my Heritage Rough Riders or my Ruger SSs. I'm usually good for 3-4 out of 6 offhand. Impresses the heck out of my grandkids. Not that hard though once you figure out where to hold on the target.

I just bought a nice Blackhawk 357 this week, hoping to try it out tomorrow or Sunday. It's a companion for my 1894 Marlin.I want to try both at 100.

^the above for anywhere near a decent price in my area. The Blackhawk has been like a hen's tooth in my local shops and Armslist.

Congratulations on your purchases, happy shooting!

I scored a 357 Blackhawk a couple of weeks ago too. I was actually looking for a 44 Spl or 45 Colt, but haven't seen one of either in a couple of years so figured I better get it while I could. Maybe a start of a new category in my accumulation.

I like picking off the 4" spinners at 25 yds with my 9mm Shield and my SP101 in 32calm both 3" barrels. I didn't hit them every time but most every time. It was fun until someone ruined it for us and the took all the steel targets out of the range.
Now we have no steel targets to shoot at.
