Silly name in my opinion, but an interesting if unnecessarily complicated lock design. I like it purely because it's different.

I'm very curious if any Blade Show goers looked at this and if so, what your impressions are.

@hso You were at Blade, correct? Did you look at this monster at all?

I'd like to buy one for the novelty alone, and yes I'd carry it.

You would literally have to pay me to get me to carry that.

People can like what they like, but I think "American Tanto" blades are next to useless. Combine that with recurve for no good reason, an immensely thick spine, etc. Just because.

Exactly. We all have different tastes and this one will be for a selective bunch who find it appealing.

I actually like the blade shape, and it is almost exactly the same as the blade on my WE Knives Thug. I find it cuts and slices fine, but yes, it is unnecessarily complex. I do prefer a flat grind to a hollow, and I have no doubt the recurve would make it interesting to sharpen.

This knife is clearly a showcase of their capabilities, not that they need to demonstrate that anymore.

I can certainly understand that! I was a little surprised they didn't submit this for judging.
As you know, I'm a folding knife kind of guy. A fixed blade just isn't that useful to me. But I've already gotten bored with the same old same old. So yep, novelty is interesting to me now.

I more or less reached the same place with knives, that I did with guns. I just got there faster. Give me fancy and fidget friendly knives, or give me death!

Oh, it isn't as heavy as it looks.
There's a lot of milling there isn't there?

He said it's HEAVY
Heavy is a relative term. I'm 6'3" and 210 lbs of 41 year old.

If I buy one, it's going in the pocket. Just need to tighten the belt. Or, find a decent belt sheath to carry it in

I actually really like the idea of a non-scratching pouch I could attach to my hiking backpack strap.

I'll let you know if there are any wardrobe malfunctions though. LOL! No pics, I promise.

So it's definitely not a carry knife. He said it's HEAVY.

That's not the same thing.

We have gotten used to the trend towards lighter and lighter folders, but we've always had a few heavy weight Ti frame makers with us. At Blade I saw more companies offering a heavier Ti folders amongst their feather weights to meet the desire by a segment of consumers that complain, "I want a knife I can FEEL in my hand!". This is one of those.

I wouldn't carry it because I'm not one of those folks, but the companies I chatted with about their hefty folders all said the same thing, "We have people asking for heavier folders.". To each...

Like John I think that blade shape is a joke. The recurve too. This wasn't made for a purpose; it was made to be cool. Pass.

Folks may not like it, and that’s ok of course, but that blade shape cuts just fine.

Blah

Seriously, there are a lot of knife types. I don't like some, you may like those I don't. It's all good and why they sell a million types. My wife wants a bigger Microtech than her UTX and that will be $$$.

To me this design reminds of the current trend in knives (aside from bulk/weight). Very industrial/tactical. I’m a serious contrarian it would seem. The whole world went autos, I dug in on revolvers. Everyone loves a striker, I want a DAO. Get an AR? I prefer lever actions. Same with knives. I buy weird looking Spydercos most of the time. Everyone wants a flipper, I want a backlock. Really interesting looking knife but I have no interest in sharpening that thing!

Post pics if/when you land one 460!
