I had some work to do at my desert house this weekend and ran up there early this morning to get it done before it got really hot. After I finished the work I ran out to a shooting spot for some time with the GP 100's. I brought my 3" and my new 4" Match Champion.

I have been working on a load that used 158 grain bullets regulated to my sights and think I am pretty close. Both guns were close to the point of aim with both guns shooting slightly to the right. It thinking the pull to the right might be me. Here are some groups from 10 yards:

I shot just a bit better with the 3" but have been shooting that one longer. I then moved out to about 20 yards and shot a group double action. with the 4" I aimed where the red dot is located.

Overall I am pretty happy where I am at. I am going to replace the front sights on both guns with Brass Beads. I have a hard time with the fiber optic front sight, although it is much more visible than the black ramp. I do like the finger groveless Hogue grips. They shift the gun up in my hand but fit great.

All in all it was a fun morning in the desert. I got some work done and still had time to play.

What did you do differently on the 3" GP 100 steel plate target? - the shots are centered! If you're right handed it looks like 'thumbing' on the other targets. Here's a couple of charts you might find interesting. Note that the circular chart is for a left handed shooter.

I think a Match Champion is in my future.

Well I am left handed and dyslexic so guess I have to read this chart upside down.

Not sure what happened on the steel other than I was shooting double action. Maybe not anticipating the hammer fall showed up in centered groups. I have a lot more work to do with these two, but am liking them so far.

I don’t know about anyone else but those targets with aiming tip charts do nothing but cause me more issues and annoyance.

@ECVMatt if I shot 20 yard groups like that with those guns I would ignore those charts.

Good shooting with fine guns on a nice day.

What I'm hearing is "aim slightly to the left with the 4" one"

Fortunately I think there is wiggle room in the top strap to move the sight a bit and still keep it within the dovetail cuts. This should be enough to get me to center. Once that is done, like the Ronco Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ taught me so many years ago, I can set it and forget it! I will use this one on my ATV out in the desert, so I want it to be pretty tough and be able to get banged up.
