The Flash Hider on my SBR inexplicably went loose, probably from an insufficient application of Rocksett or dirty threads.

Instead of going through the trouble of finding all my bigger tools to reattach it...

I just remembered that I had an AAC Cyclone collecting dust somewhere, and it does look really good on this SBR.

BUT!

I'm not sure this would be a good idea.

I guess I could run a pressure curve on QuickLOAD to determine whether the pressures at the muzzle would be similar to that of a 300 Winchester Magnum exiting a 20" barrel...

...there are some conflicting Forum discussions wherein the folks from AAC said it's okay, others where they said it wasn't okay. Not sure it's really rated for this much pressure, or even this round.

Does anyone have any information?

Beyond "rated for .308 Winchester," I'm not getting any information online.

There's a smattering of posts saying it should be relegated to .300 Blackout use...

This thing's prolly obsolete.

No information, but with AAC being closed up I wouldn't use it in that configuration since you'll have to go third party to get it fixed.

AAC is back up and running. They are now located here in Huntsville. I have lunch with one of their employees on occasion. They will repair old AAC suppressors for a fee but at least you will have AAC working your AAC products.

Because the thin 316 SS outer tube is all that's keeping a Cyclone together, and the blast chambers are quite small.

When I do Bravo conversions on them, I take out the first baffle to make room for muzzle devices. Left in place, folks would only have the option of super short MDs like the Griffin EZ Brake and Minimalist or LPM Baby Bell.

The SD series (and M4-2000, Mini 4) have the same 316 tubes, but fully welded inconel cores which we tie the conversion pieces into after cutting off the 18T or 51T mounts. They also have substantial blast chambers. I have run a 7.62 SDN-6 pretty hard on our 13" .308 AR post sample machine gun, but I would have concerns doing so with a Cyclone.
