Anyone find this prints too much in a OWB? This fits my hand a lot better than the shield but I’m concerned with the larger grip it will print more. If you carry this what holster do you use?

I carry one OWB at 3-4 o'clock position in a Desantis leather holster. I don't have an issue with it. But I live in Arizona so I'm not really worried about printing. So my idea of what is okay might be different than yours.
I’m a jeans/shorts and t shirt. Trying to keep it hidden as much as possible.

Most people don’t like to hear eBay when it comes to holsters but if you want OTW that’s high and tight that really stays close to your body, this is it: E8EEBDB4-18EF-4F45-B955-F83660024819.jpeg

The Glock 43x/48 grip frame is comfy for me, too. Now that I’m an admin desk jockey I retired my G-34 for my primary on-off duty gun. I bought a G-43, G-48 and G-43xMOS, and chose the 43x as the best combination of grip and size for my needs.

Off duty I carry in a kydex pancake-style holster made for me by a friend, it is similar to the one posted above. I am not the biggest guy, and the gun doesn’t print too badly with a shirt covering it.

Stay safe.

I carry my 43x in a DeSantas OWB,it does print slightly in summer clothes. Oregon is an open carry state and besides when I ask my wife if she can see the pistol, she replies "Who is looking at an old man like you" (I guess that's a good thing) With the longish grip frame compared with other compacts like a LC9s,its going to,But it is the grip frame size that first got my attention with the single stack Glocks,so much so I recently bought a 48 MOS which I am more than pleased with. Both pistols can use the same 2 holsters and the magazines fit great in my 1911 mag pouches like they were made for it. I'm a happy camper.

No a pistol the size of the 43X (or Shield or 365XL, whatever) should not possibly "print too much." Fact is, even with almost any body type, a good belt/holster combo should easily be able to effectively conceal the 43X OWB, unless you're wearing a tightly-fitted shirt (or going shirtless).

Any moderate or high-rise, securely and closely-worn pancake style, either kydex or leather, OWB will conceal a sub-compact pistol.

I've used a MFT kydex, a Bianchi Remedy, DeSantis Mini-Scabbard for the 43X, usually about 3:00/3:30 position and any style of untucked shirt (that's not see-through). Carried this pistol (as well as a SIG P-365XL) in Florida, Arizona and SoCal with no worries. Get a dedicated gun-belt by Galco, Crossbreed, Beltman, MagPul, BladeTec, Wilderness Tactical, just for gosh sakes don't use a belt less than 1.5" wide or thin and flimsy.

I carry a Glock 48 milled for a trijicon rmrsc IWB everyday with no problems printing. As others have suggested, get a good belt and holster and the right type of shirts and no problem at all.

I will make one suggestion that hasn't been covered here, get a slight forward cant on your holster, this puts the grip closer to the vertical midline of one's side (if carrying at the 3-4 o'clock).

Now if your into muscle shirts...good luck.

If you have not fired a 43X, then I would suggest you try one first. Single stack pistols with narrow grips can transmit a lot of recoil of a small area.

I live in FLORIDA and use an oversized button down shirt over my GLOCK 19 issue pistol of the BERETTA or STOEGER I carry off duty when I don't pocket carry. A good holster will help a lot, but make sure you ae comfortable with the style you pick. For a close fitting holster, I like either a skin protector or a thumb snap as either will keep the slide from rubbing against me.

Also consider how you will carry a spare mag. With a double stack mag, I can comfortably carry a spare in my side pocket next to my wallet, as long as the mag has a rounded, plastic base pad. A sharp edged baseplate like those on older magazines will be uncomfortable.

Here is me with my 43x in a Desantis OWB leather holster worn right at about 3:30 location. I recently gained about 50 pounds due to cancer and the subsequent treatments, but it's slowly coming off. Im 6'02" and about 285 pounds. As you can see it's pretty well concealed but it still does print a little bit.

My 5.11 cloth belt may be the issue.

My buddy was just asking me about these 3. The 43, 43X and 48. He asked me if I could do it over would I get the 43 again and I said that it was kind of a tough call. I like the 43X but it wasn't out at the time I got my 43. I think I could still go with the 43, it's very easy to conceal.

But I think I'm going to suggest he do what you did and just tell him to buy all 3 :D Problem solved.

I'm going to go ahead and suggest DeSantis holster and a good quality belt. I have had nothing but success with all of my DeSantis and after a considerable time trying others, and wasting money because who returns holsters? Buy, try then decide it sucks and stick it in a corner somewhere.

And the Shield Arms 9rd mag for the 43 goes a long way toward evening the capacity with the 43X. My 43 is still the gun I carry the most. It is simply very easy to conceal. Even when I carry another gun as my primary I'll carry the 43 as a backup in an ankle holster.

OP, it sounds like you’ve identified your belt as a possible problem. I am a firm believer in having a good belt. If you’ve never had a proper gun belt, an Aker B21 or DeSantis Econobelt are good starter belts that won’t break the bank. As for holsters, the DeSantis Speed Scabbard is my go-to OWB. I carry a Shield Plus and have no trouble with printing (that I can see).

My Grizzle holster is a pancake OWB and that style is flat. It fits both Glock 26 and Taurus G3C.

I have to agree with everyone saying that a good belt is very important no matter what you carry or type of holster you use.

As Spats McGee said, the Aker B21 or DeSantis Econobelt are good starter belts that won’t break the bank. I have been using my Desantis Econobelt for a few years now and it works well for carrying everything from my Sig P938, snub nose revolvers, G19 and 1911 pistols in IWB holsters.

Midway has the Desantis 1 1/2" Econobelt for $26.99 https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2375320978?pid=971078

Yes there are better belts but at higher prices too. I can say that after using the Desantis Econobelt for as long as I have, it is definitely a good belt especially for the price.
