I agree 100%. I get mainly 10 and 20 rd mags or whatever is close depending on chambering sometimes 17 or 23 or whatever). Especially for the 7.62x39 the Duramags are the way to go. I stopped buying ASC altogether.
I have close to a dozen 7.62x39 ARs from 7.5 to 16". I stick to brass ammo since my Dad does our handloading. No feeding problems and the round is quite accurate out to 400 yards, sometimes 500. I have no desire to buy any AKs. Just not my interest. I do plan to get a couple 7.62x39 bolt guns and put them in Oryx chassis, just for fun.

Don't forget LPK's. I just saw a site today 30rd AR-15 mags 7.99 (don't know how good)

Seriously - verify that you First have a small (or larger ) reserve of the 'ammo chambering' which you plan to shoot. Whether .223, 7.62x39 --

We've not had any brand-new ammo panic following Uvalde or Highland Park, compared to 2020-21, but some new combination of factors.... could... begin to create a True panic this week.
---And I'm not Selling any ammo,, to exclude that factor.---

I've always bought 500 rds of any new (to me ) ammo Before ordering a new rifle.

If I wanted one, I`d DEFINITELY buy it now.

I don't expect a ban. They've done all they're going to. I do, however, think every able bodied man should own at least one AR. Now is as good a time as any. I think for your first you should buy one. Learn how it works and how to work on it before building one. It never hurts to pick up a couple of cheap lowers for future posterity but a word of warning, they have a tendency of morphing into rifles.

If you want an AK, get a PSA and ignore all the warnings about crappy triggers and rough, inaccurate guns.

Not arguing , just curious as to what leads you to an apparent certainty that, " They`ve done all they`re going to. " JMO, but I think an effort to restrict/ limit/ make obscenely expensive the ammunition that the apparent majority of AR platforms run on ( 5.56 and .223 ) may bear more fruit for the anti-gun proponents that an outright AR ban effort. I`ll be surprised if they don`t try that tack.

If they could do more, they would have. The token nonsense they already passed was all they're capable of getting through. If they had more votes in the senate, they'd probably do more. I could be wrong but that's my opinion.

A) “Fear talk”.. $$

B) You realize how many thousands of people
“ out there “ are Trying to Sell us an AR or an AKM. Gunbroker’s huge inventory , including these complete rifles and misc. components, represents only a —-small fraction—-.

You must realize the underestimated connection between A and B?
Imagine their motivation.
