If you're referring to the 12.7x44R, it's almost a dead match for a 50/70. Never heard of a 48r.

Try to find a 12.7x48r. You won’t

The metric size for the 50-70 is 12.7x48R. Some Swiss 12.7x44R rifles will chamber 50-70, some wont.

I have a swedish rolling block in 12.7x44R that I load for. I use 50 Alaskan brass and 50/70 dies. Fairly straightforward.
