Youtube made me think.... not exactly, but i wanted to say it for some reasson.

But yes - YT keeps showing me gun related videos (I even reseted history and tryed to feed algorythm with diffrent topic videos but he still knows what i really want...) and sometimes i indeed find myself winded by this hobby.

The thing is that i also like games, virtual reality and movies/TV shows. Supprise, supprise its often related to guns

I also work in local biggest army/gun shop

Count ukraine news into mix and there you have some need to relax form this stuff.

I do have some ways to unwind - for example TV show Bobs burger is great for pausing, nature helps too or just chatting with friends about their hobbies (or just ask them how theirs day was, not just because yourself)

Still I thing it would be interesting or even helpfull to discuss this topic

So how do you unwind from your gun hobby or how do you prevent "burn out" in this context?

I could think, "I'm going for a quick trip to the store, in a good area" maybe I don't "need" to carry. o_O
But, I'd never think that because guns (concealed carry) is enjoyable, like breakfast & lunch and I don't need to unwind from those either.

Ok OP you watch Bob’s Burgers often? If so you will understand;

“There is no such thing as what you just said.” :D

Boats, fishing, cooking.

Balance.
Well said.
I have too many hobbies.
Aside from gun related......
Boating, fishing, music, jeeping, traveling, gardening/ canning.
We spend quite a bit of time with the church.

I listed all those things but i carry my ccw nearly everything I do, soooo......firearms are a pretty big part of my life.

Before I hit my 70s I used to turn wrenches with one of my sons he wanted to build a big block 65 chev impala well we got er done over 500 ci monster got a rear end from a nascar body in carolina richmond gears and it was a beast. My boy was proud of that one he is gone now died at 42 I miss him a lot my other sons took the car apart and put up maybe we will build again .

Hmmm... So you work in a gun shop and " need " to unwind from your firearm hobby. Sounds like your hobby is not a hobby at all. Perhaps you should consider a more physically and/or mentally demanding job away from firearms and see how that goes... You might try to limit your TV and computer time as it sounds like you spend too much time just sitting there. Maybe read a book...

My "Gun Hobby" is my Unwinding Mechanism from everyday life .
Sitting at my melting pot , casting bullets ... no interruptions ... so peaceful as is running each cast bullet through a lube/sizer .
Loading up some 38 Special target ammo , going to the indoor shooting range and making small bug-hole , clover leaf groups in the targets ... no phone , no TV , No stress ... just Relaxation !

If You need to "Unwind" from your gun hobby ... You Ain't Doing It Right !
Also ... avoid Social Media and Political Talk TV ... too many fools who aren't required to be intelligent or truthful in the horse puckey they spout out like the Lord sent it down to them engraved on stone tablets .

Okay, I'm going to be the bad guy, but this is a firearms forum. Anything not directly related to firearms or the 2nd Amendment is off topic for us. Which includes a great many of the things I enjoy. But they simply fall outside of our scope.
