I went to get my TRR8 out of pawn this morning and the only 357 magnum they had was Fort Scott TUI. I’m not doubting the capability of the round at all. It’s a bullet with a charge behind it. Even the tests online make it look at least as good as any other FMJ. Kinda worried a lot about over penetration though…especially with it being a 357 magnum out of a 5.5in barrel.

It will work like other FMJ, only better. It is not as apt to deform as if FMJ, so it is not loosing energy to deformation and that energy will help with penetration. Consider overpenetration to be a given.

They don't state, but I assume this is a 16" or 18" gel block. It overpenetrated and kept going.

Nice!

Personally, I'd worry more about missing the target than over penetration in the first place, should you have to actually have to use it in defense. Statistically the number of shots missed quite exceeds the number of shots which hit.

THAT SAID...buy something else sometime that you prefer more and shoot these up on the range.
