That would be "Lucille",,,
My Mom's Colt Frontier Scout in .22 LR.

When I was a tween this gun lived on the top of our fridge,,,
Along with a brick of .22 shorts.

"Get your chores done without me having to hound you,,,
I'll let you shoot Lucille a bit after dinner.

Myself and my two younger brothers learned to shoot with her.

It's a crazy precise shooter,,,
A friend of my Dad used to borrow her,,,
He competed in local "Ham Shoots" and won a lot of them.

Nowadays it's my favorite tin-can killer,,,
Always brings a smile to my face.

My favorite is my 686-4. Only gun I ever shot a true one hole group with. I bought this used, some police officer had it tuned and then later on traded in on some other gun he decided he wanted worse. He should have kept this one. It's a work of art to shoot. I'll never part with it.

My other two revolvers I won't be without are my two 28s,
Model 28 and 28-2.jpg

The top one is my age, 64 years old. It's my first revolver. Made in Dec 1957 or Jan 1958, I bought it in 1984, It was still new and no one wanted it.
Back then Model 28s were sort of looked down on. Everyone wanted the 27 and I couldn't afford a 27 so I bought this one. Never regretted it.

The lower one is a 4" 28-2 I bought as new old stock( 1972) in case I wore out the 6" one. I bought it somewhere around 2005.
What a joke that turned out to be. Probably wasted $400.00 on it but I'm kind of attached to it now.

At the moment, this old 1970's replica 1860 Colt. I just recently had it tuned and overhauled to perfection, with other goodies added (internally) to make it as reliable and trouble free as any modern revolver. Yes, a bit slow to reload, in comparison. I use it as a general purpose side-arm when hiking, hunting and spending time in the wilderness.

I'm going to add my Super Duper Blackhawk. I've had this since I was 20 years old, had to have a girlfriend buy it for me. I've shot over 5,000 rounds through it, at least half of that .44 Special. I became "quite good" with it, but can't shoot it as well these days as I don't shoot it much. I've hunted and taken deer with it when handgun hunting first became legal, and shot many coyotes. When I was strong and young and dumb I even took it on many backpacks in Montana. I was like a mule, 70 pound backpack and a 7.5", 46 ounce sidearm. !!!

About five years ago I had a good gunsmith in Idaho take the barrel down to six inch, as the firing pin needed replacement. "Hey, while you are at it..." And I had it re-blued.

Now I use it when hiking or exploring in the mountains sometimes, if I want to carry a .22 rimfire rifle, or my .22 Hornet. Or if I'm just packing a spear, it makes for a good "back-up". ! This would certainly be my never-sell-ever-for-any-reason revolver for sure, 'till death do us part.

Except for a gang of 38 Specials and a pair of 45 Colt CAS guns, I am down to one gun in each cartridge I load and not thinking about selling any of them. The standout though is the S&W 19-4 nickel plate, 4". I am very selective about what I shoot in it, but every load is in 357 brass. It is accurate with anything when shooting at 50 feet...always a pleasure. Carries well with a Herrett's Detective in walnut.

easy, my High Standard Marshall, 9 shot, bought it when I was 17 from the local hardware store, my uncle signed for it. shot over 5000 rds thru in in the last 50 years. now its my go to gun to shoot rats with federal rat shot around my chicken coup. this spring I shot 40 with 44 shots when my neighbor cleaned out her horse barn. marshall 002.JPG

I find the 1860 one of the most naturally pointing guns I’ve ever owned. I’ve had a pietta navy and that one army. Should have kept them

I really like my Colt 3” and the Single Six is sweet, but this old girl has seen some things over the years. Had the slack out of the trigger on a charging black bear once and proned out a suspect too (thank God he complied because the range was long)

She’s loaded with Buffalo bore 158g LSWCHP with a strip of Gold Dot for reload.

If I could afford one in shooting condition it would be a 1st Gen SAA chambered for the 45 Colt cartridge. Since I can't afford that I have this:

It's a Pre-War model USFA 45 Colt, with the black powder frame and all US sourced parts. My favorite, particularly when shot with black powder cartridges. And now I can't afford another one of these.

My 617's are my favorite and the most used for the last 25 years ever since I started speed shooting sports like our bowling pin leagues and various steel plate matches. I started the speed sports with my Browning Buckmark and Ruger MKII then found shooting a S&W double action fast is much more satisfying and now for me faster than my semi-autos.
