Huge Price Change on Recent Purchase

I had my eye on this firearm for about a month before finally deciding to buy it. Maybe I should have known that the price was too high on it. If the price came down $100 instead of $300 it would not bother me so much.
If the price had gone up the same amount. Would you have offered the company the extra 300?
We all have pulled the "trigger" too soon or late. It's part of life.
I didn't buy primers during early COVID in an attempt to allow others to continue shooting. I had enough for 5 years. Looking back I could have bought another 50000 at 29 per brick instead of the current 89-100. I made a choice and am living with it.

Sales seem to get slow this time every year. This year seems to be be worse and some small retailers can't afford to give up any profit when they do sell. Your seller prolly paid a higher price when they brought it into inventory. Its also all the stuff going down right now and $ is going to necessities first with little left over. No one seems to want to admit the current "administration" has about succeeded in destroying the economy.

Is this thread a weird test to see who takes their lumps and won’t complain when he has bad luck. I mean the OP joined in 2009, hasn’t posted since 2017, has 31 total posts and is saying stuff that pretty much nobody here thinks is right. Nothing personal OP but have you been taking lessons from the entitled kids in the cities? Or is this a thread to get confirmation that the old(ish) members of THR have not gone bat crap crazy like the rest of the nutty world? I would never dream of complaining online about missing a sale and expecting the seller to give me money. I can’t believe someone else did.

I still think they need to give me something so that I don't have so much buyers remorse. I could have bought 6 new metal mags for that $300. Companies need to worry about losing customers when sales start slowing down. I thought it was a great company to buy from until this situation.
This is such a bonkers statement. You are in the wrong thinking they owe you anything.

I have had the hots for a M77-357 for a while. I always had a hard time swallowing the price ruger wanted for this thing, but finally a month or so ago I decided well hell, I will just pony up and get one. One last check of rugers website to have a look at the pric.......what!?!?!?! Over 1200 now. Nope you can keep it.

You bought a commodity in a volatile market and you LOST.

GET OVER IT

NO ONE OWES YOU JACK

people go broke everyday playing yhe stock market and they cry less than you guys buying a gun.

Unfortunately many have grown to accept returns and price adjustment and outright compensation as rights. Others have grown to utterly abuse them as means of entertainment if not profit. With todays volatile and inflated market i cannot see this continue.

I agree with this, at the height of the shortages I did $.15 per primer. Now that things are going back to normal $.12 seems the new norm. Eh I needed them.

On the rifle I was looking at, well I see your new asking price, and (I) am just not going to pay for that....others might but not me.

the M77 stainless steel is so nice! had one in .243 lightweight and it was sweet!

I make a point of not checking prices after I’ve purchased, invariably it leads to remorse. I figure if I was willing to pay the asking price at the time I have nothing to complain about. Grouching over later sale prices won’t get you anywhere.

And then there's amazon who has a tendency to change price on stuff while in the cart or lower it immediately after you buy. I still buy stuff but now aware of the rules of the game and have no real complaint. Smart man once said "youse pays your money and youse takes your chances".

I bought a POF-5 pistol (MP5 variant) a couple of weeks ago for $1400. The other day I found out that the price was reduced to about $1100. I emailed the company asking if I would get a rebate or something to make up for missing the sale price. The guy basically said they are not going back and offering refunds on previous orders.
Now I have serious buyers remorse for paying the extra $300 because I ordered it a couple of weeks too early. I thought the company could at least give me a gift card or something since I have bought several other things from them. I am thinking that I should not do business with this company again. What do you think about this situation?
I bit on both at $1,399 and have no regrets. Will buy again from Atlantic if they have what I need.

House sells for $350,000, then the market tanks, and now, said house is worth $250,000. I'm sure JP Morgan is going to take that $100,000 off your loan... Enjoy the gun, and if you don't buy from them again, it's your loss, not theirs'. Just my two cents.

JP probably shorted that security back mortgage products… so yeah, you’re paying them back EVENTUALLY

No use crying over spilled milk. The company didn’t do anything to deceive you. Why is it their problem that you paid current market value for a product and the value dropped after your purchase? Have you ever bought a new vehicle right before the next year’s model drops? Enjoy your new gun and quit worrying about what you paid for it.

I'm pretty sure OP is just having buyer's remorse and needs to vent. We've all been there. While some of the replies may have been a little bit harsh I certainly wouldn't say that they're wrong. Three hundred bucks isn't chump change, but give it a few months and you likely won't even remember it. And by then if you still feel a tinge of regret every time you look at the thing, sell it, it's not worth being upset over.

If you think this is bad, I just hope that you aren't one of those people who bought a house recently at severely elevated prices, those people will likely be facing the music soon. Things could be much worse for you, so don't dwell on it for too long.

A Similar thing happened to me with POF. I bought two rogue rifles from a wholesaler same time, same order. One had the nice strike eagle ambidextrous charging handle or what ever it is called. The other had the milspecish one. I emailed them to see if they would do anything about it, they just told me they recently included the upgrade in new production units and it was the luck of the draw. In other words "tough $&!+" And offered to sell me the upgraded charging handle at full price :barf:. I wasn't happy about it but went on with life and bought one from one of their competitors. I like POFs products enough to buy things they make that I can't get anywhere else still, they are a rather innovative company with some unique and cool products, but it still irks me.

Edit; I got the wrong "POF", but the story is still true!
