What's your preference pistols or long guns?

I have more hand guns than long guns. Specifically revolvers, I have an infatuation with them that I just can't explain. I also am nearly as accurate with revolvers as I am with a long gun standing off hand...I really like short handy carbines of various flavors well. But revolvers stole my heart long ago and never gave it back.

I've always preferred rifles, but here in the past few years I've found myself mostly shooting handguns. So much so that I'm going to try my hand this deer season this year with a revolver. I think it'll put the thrill/challenge back into the hunt that I've been missing for years now. Hince forth why I got back into bow hunting a few years ago.

I'm primarily a handgunner. I break mine into two catagories, defensive (semi-auto) and recreational (revolvers). I enjoy shooting revolvers the most. For hunting I mostly use rifles but do hunt small game with a revolver sometimes.

I've been fascinated with handguns since I was a kid, seventy some years ago. So I prefer pistols to rifles. Shotguns are third because I suck shooting them.

S&W revolvers. Sam Colt may have made all men equal, but S&W perfected the process. (If my shoulder were not so arthritic, my answer might have been different.)

It's hard to stuff an M4 in my pants, so a handgun is usually what I have, but rifles are better.

In the last few years, I've especially begun to appreciate the braced pistols we have available.

Rifle... And a modular one at that... The mythical changeling... aka the AR platform... All rifles in general though... The more the merrier

I'd take a lever action carbine every time. Great for indoor, outside 15-100 yards for paper and 200 for steel Silhouette. If I had to protect my home it's still a great choice, and they are a great conversation piece at the range. I don't think there is anything more versatile or cooler.

I love both but lean towards pistols more. It may be because they take less room in the safe so I can hoard more, lol.
Shooting for fun in my local area: pistols. The guns don’t take up as much room, and not as much range as needed either.

I don’t have a lot of space to shoot, but if I did, I’d probably never be without my .22 rifle. It’d be slung across my back.

I prefer long guns. Probably because that's what I've been shooting the most of (hunting and long range shooting) and I'm better with a long gun. I do enjoy pistols, but my preference just seems to be rifles and shotguns.

I always had a stronger interest in pistols. I owned I think 5 pistols before I even bought my first rifle! I still have many more pistols than rifles.

Rifle, no contest. My most favorite rifle to shoot is a Remington 550-1. Let my wife shoot for the 1st time the other day and she fell in love with it . Over and over she called it "Sweet".

For me rifles, I am just not steady enough for most hand gun things anymore. The normal games for handguns you really have to move around quite a bit, and I am a bit rusty, like an old door I really don't want to move. For most rifle games you are in one spot, be it small or large bore.

Also the old historic rifles are just interesting to me, and I enjoy shooting them, usually from a bench because the shakeyness.

I have been doing more hand gun stuff here lately, it is just more easy to grab one thing and head out.

My preference changes from time to time. So I guess that must mean that I don't have one! :) I enjoy shooting a good score on a 25 or 50 yard pistol target but I also enjoy shooting a one hole group with a rifle.

I prefer rifles over pistols for shooting, though I have a defensive carry pistol. I am also addicted to shotguns.

Like 'em all, but always been more of a pistolero than a rifleman. Trained in the revolver a lot on the job before rifles were a law enforcement thing, and it just kind of took off from there.

When I only had 2 Glocks, it was long range ARs & bolt action chassis rifles by far. But now that I have 5 1911's it is about even and maybe sliding towards pistols.

Depends on what I am in the mood for.

Eat enough lobster and it starts tasting like soap…at that point a hot dog sounds great.

Same for guns, I have enjoyed from the smallest NAA mini revolver to The 50 BMG that weighs 42 lbs but never both in the same day…odd.

Dad started me on pistols, a Beretta M70 32acp which was his until he gave it to me in his will.
However, the first time I picked up a 30-30 I knew I was a rifleman ... I have some nice pistols which I'm pretty fair with but when I go to the range, most often its rifles I'm there to shoot, but I'll take a pistol or two with me in case the high power range is busy.
