What did you shoot today?

Put 150 rounds of 158 grain 38spl over 4.3gr HP-38 & CCI SRP through the least expensive revolver I own. Some of my other revolvers won't always ignite SRP consistently but the Model 64-8 has a never failed to ignite. I bought it from a small FFL for $300 OTD, no tax or transfer fee and it's tight as a drum. It's a great shooter despite the lock and two piece barrel most purists hate and probably the best $300 I ever spent. IMG_1938.JPG IMG_1936.JPG

12 holes in concrete with a pistol grip hammer drill to install hand rail for compromised wife. It felt like a handgun.
I drilled 5 holes 6" deep in concrete with a 3 lb drilling hammer and a star chisel. Of course, I was in my mid twenties, and hard as a rock.

SMACK, turn chisel, SMACK, turn chisel, SMACK....

The concrete was probably 60 years old. By the end of it I thought my hand was going to fall off. Couldn't even hold a beer.

Rental impact drills are cheap.

Been there, done that, in 1968.

Not today, but yesterday,
42 rounds through my 1991 Colt Anaconda making my load count up to a whooping 145 rounds through this revolver.
Liking this snake gun as it does not punish my middle finger knuckle like my Ruger SBH and Virginian Dragoon.
Though the picture only shows one box of ammo, I had three different loads in the range bag.
Trying to decide what I like to plink with.

15, 17 and then 21 grains of 2400 under 240 grain Keith type of my cast bullets and Sierra JHC's all touched off by CCI 350's.
Going to plink with the home cast as it only costs* me 13 to 15 cents a round and work my loads up.

*until I run out of primers.:(

Found some 7mm Mauser ammo locally and bought 2 boxes. Took my 1895 Chilean Mauser, my now being regular range rifle 91/30 Mosin, my Sig AR and my M1 Garand to try again after a little light cleaning and luring. Always seems to take me awhile to figure out elevation hold even though I'm only 100 yards on the lowest setting. M1 Garand ran much better but only 2 clips were ran, but no issues feeding or ejecting clips. I used some Tula steel .223 and it grouped horribly, well hope it was just the ammo. 20220808_122707.jpg 20220808_124130.jpg 20220808_124305.jpg 20220808_130722.jpg 20220808_132718.jpg 20220808_132937.jpg

And from my friends’ collections:

6. Remington 700 22-250
7. Marlin 336 30-30 Win
8. RRA 2011
9. Charles Daly 1911
10. Beretta 96
11. Super accurate competition bolt action 22LR

Sweet! How did it shoot? Is it new? What loads were you using?
I'm a .41 Mag fan myself. ;)
It shoots good. Found that 2 years ago at a gun shop not to far from here. It was used when I got it. Loads I was shooting: 215 grain coated swc from MBC over 16 grains of 2400 and a 210 grain Remington FP over 18.5 grains of 2400. 20220809_131601.jpg 20220809_131601.jpg

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Well, at least it sounds like you "used enough gun." ;)

It gave ME No satisfaction and I showed it NO Mercy ; I figured it deserved it .:D What to do with stupid phones which turn themselves off , change settings or refuse to function as a phone . Repeatably told Me I couldn't make a call as I had NO network connection ,yet I'm 5Ghz and using WiFi and internet ,so WTH !. Phone has had a history of updating itself while I sleep and the parameters of which I SET are changed .
Sounds to ME like the FBI NSA WH administration are PREPPING with BIG TECH  So the EVIL one is now where it belongs ,I'll be hunting for the Chinese malware Tic Tok NEXT and then High Tech with the New Build .338 Lapua  I'll sort it ALL out by November

617 4 with ammo and loader.jpg

Shot my 617 today with some CCI Mini Mags, Federal Golden Bullets and Federal AutoMatch. I fired 300 rounds and the only failure was the FAM with one round not wanting to fire no matter how many times I turned it.

Double action is a smooth 8 pounds on average with my Lyman digital scale.

Last week I reamed the chambers with a finishing reamer. Today all the empties dropped out freely. Big improvement.
