UGLY GUNS...

Cool picture! Do you know the name of the film?

Right? The first time I shot it, I did a double take. Wait, this is 9mm? Good grief is it snappy and in that nasty .40 S&W way.
It's not the perceived AMOUNT of the recoil, it's the unpleasant CHARACTER of the recoil.

The hat makes me think of Lost Command, which I saw for the first time a couple months ago.

I see guns as being a lot like trucks and motorcycles. I have seen guns friends see as works of art while if my dogs had faces as ugly as those guns I would shave their butts and walk them backwards. Being nostalgic I ride a 92 Harley and my neighbor has a much newer 2018. So he decides to dress his up and orders a complete LED light kit from Florida Joe. We spent a week dressing his bike out. When done he looks at me and says "let's order another kit and do yours". No and no way I don't want a traveling light show. All of my guns are very basic including my AR rifles.

Only one sports a scope. They are all plain Jane. I guess it's just a matter of personal taste and with my taste I have no ugly guns, plain yes but ugly no. :)

Oh nice, really nice. My Electro Glide '92 about 9,000 miles on it.

Even has original cassette player.

Anyway like my guns, plain and simple.

No LASERS on my handguns or flashlights. If others are into that cool with me. It's a matter of one pleasing themselves with their taste. :)

Now back to guns.

Ron.

Ugly?
Glock.

Matter of fact, not just Glock but - all the Glock-like poly-crap stuff out there,, down to and including rubber things that sort of look like grips - that are stuck on guns where wood should go.

I find all of that unpleasing to my eye.

Not that that is a bad thing. My Ruger LCP is a constant companion & my .45acp Shield is a wonder of modern manufacturing & I can't see anywhere near putting wood grips on my S&W M69.
As the old song* goes - get an ugly..
Ugly has it's good side.

I’m a personal fan of this ugly plastic guns! especially in the summer time when my LC9 is in my pocket and extra mag in the other pocket.

I find the Korth NXR .44mag to be an ugly revolver. The "lightning cuts" in the barrel shroud, the Picatinny rails on the frame and shroud, the "winged" front sight
and the cylinder release lever all add up to ugly. The old phrase "designed by a commitee" seems to apply. They may be made well, but made ugly.

My Astra 600, also known as "The Pipe Wrench"
Hardest recoiling pistol I have and it's only a 9mm,
stings the web of the hand like a hot .40 S&W and is
a complete PITA to take down to clean and to re-assemble.

On the other hand, they were relatively very well made in terms of material and workmanship

My recently acquired (gifted from a friend's estate) M1 Carbine is pretty ugly in this Choate stock!View attachment 1095286

Ahh, this hurts my heart to see an honorable old soldier like this clothed in tacticool black plastic.
Bet you can find a nice matching stock to put that action back into? Then you can garbage can that black plastic?

I posted this before on the space gun thread, my Explorer II pistol.

Since then I added a laser sight, because acquiring a sight picture in a pistol scope is slow.

There are reasons no one making the AR-7 after Charter Arms has tried to revive the Explorer II Pistol.
They are ugly.
Finding this was kinda like finding a homely stray pup that no else one wants but it looks at me with big sad eyes.
