Does anyone here carry a Canik TP9 Elite SC? That is their sub compact model, if you can call it that. It's a little on the porky side for a sub compact. I currently carry a Shield Plus which I like a lot for it's intended purpose. But I have a Canik Rival which is absolutely the best shooting gun that I own. I'm more accurate with the Rival than my SIG P320 X-Carry Legion, which cost about $300 more than the Rival. I love that Rival and am wondering if the Elite SC might be better in my hands than the Shield.

Of course I realize that some of you folks carry 1911s and whatnot that are all larger than the Elite SC. But for my size I cannot carry something that big. I'm about 5'9" (used to be a little taller but I'm 71 years old and starting to be height challenged, so to speak) and about 175 lbs.. The Shield plus fits me well but I'm wondering if anyone can speak to carrying the small Canik. Did I mention that I love it's big brother, the Rival?

Thanks

I own and carry the Elite SC and like it a lot. It fits my hands good and has a nice trigger. The slide length is about the same as a Glock G19 while the grip length is slightly longer than the G26 grip length. While I can't compare the Canik to a Sig, I do like the Elite SC better than any of my Glocks. Plus the Elite SC fits my hands better too.

I am 5'9' and around 150 lbs. I don't have any issue concealing a FS 1911, G17, G19, or the Canik Elite SC. I do carry inside the waist band.

If you like the Canik Rival then you will like the Elite SC.

The Elite SC was the first Canik I ever bought, got it used for $299. Possibly the best bargain buy ever, the thing just shoots great and carries easily enough. I've only used the holster it came with. I loved my Rival, but other things came along and I let it go. I am really hoping they do a Rival themed sub compact..I prefer the Rival trigger style.

I've got one, but have never carried it. Nice gun though. Mine came with a RDS installed or I'd have probably left it in the case, to tell the truth. I got it more for the sight than the gun. I didn't know much about them, and I think this is the first one I ever saw "live and in living color."

I shoot it pretty well, or at least I did the one time I've had it out to the range. The red dot is "interesting."
