Ginex primers

I bought 2 bricks of spp. I loaded a couple 100 just to test them. They work fine. As was said, they may be slightly oversized. They go in a little tougher that CCIs.

I came across 1k srp and spp and I grabbed them

I have loaded 1 brick of SPP
I found this interesting as I've only seen them packaged in bricks of 5k...inside were 50 packets of 100

Lots of mentioned they may be a little tight tho but they work.

Other than in some brass they seat with a little more force than the CCI.
I've read this also, but haven't experienced this in the ~1k that I've loaded.

I've surmised that there are two varieties if Genix SPP...one is brass and the other is nickel plated. Most complaints I've read about them being a tight fit have been the brass colored ones.

I have felt any additional tightness with the nickel plated ones I've loaded. I'd be interested in hearing from the folks who have experienced the tightness as to the color of the primers they are using

A little softer cup.
I have a friend who is shooting 9mm in a S&W 929 and has had good luck with them. I've only used the Genix in 9mm (replacing CCI) for my M&P9 and SIG 320 so far and have been loading my .38SPL rounds with Federal SPP...I may have to try the Genix in some revolver cases next time

I bought a 5k brick of brass colored Ginex and have used them in revolver loads for .357 loaded to medium level in .357 Starline brass. They have worked as well as any other primer i have ever used!

They might have taken a little more force to seat them using my Dillon 550 but it wasn’t like it was a struggle.

The only problem with them was they weren’t cheep, like everything else these days.

I bought a thousand to try at the gun show yesterday. Like you say they weren't cheap at $80 but the vendor seemed to have a lot of them. There wasn't any limit on purchase quantity that I saw posted.

The primers I bought had been pulled from a larger batch and taped in small bricks of 500. This was a ammo manufacturer, so I am sure they came in much larger bulk.

That's actually a pretty reasonable price as the best price I've seen online has been $85/k ($425/5k)...that included shipping and HasMat. I seen them being offered as high as $525/5k...and then they wanted shipping ($30) and HazMat ($30)

When I first got mine, they limited a purchase to 50k

A guy on another forum used a micrometer to compare them to CCI primers and they are a bit wider. He took pics but I don't know how to read a mic. Also on my Loadmaster I learned today that no matter what I try (very mechanically inclined) they will not feed consistently. I've had no problems with CCI or Winchester primers. I'm going to have to prime on my Classic Turret but I am glad I have plenty of primers

They do work fine on the Lee Classic Turret but the Loadmaster has a totally different priming system. Even with CCI or Winchester you can get an occasional primer that doesn't feed but for some reason these Ginex have trouble moving down the trough even though it's spotless.

If it’s this one (https://www.rugerforum.net/threads/differences-in-primer-fit-ginex-vs-federal.402422/), the Ginex looks to be .0002-.0003” larger than the Federal.

Thanks @higgite. The Ginex primers I am having to prime separately are also the brass ones. The width of the primers is the problem I think. The mic pics are in post 20 in the Ruger thread.
