Plastic grips on a $900 revolver? dang!
even on sale for less than $500 the plastic grips ruin it.
Folks complain that ROA prices are crazy, but looks like Uberti is giving them some competition to see who can get the highest.

But seriously, thanks for sharing!

I think they're polyurethane. Plastic like a Glock.:D

I feel the same way! Synthetic "ivory" AKA, white plastic, has never appealed to me either as a grip material.

Still looks like a nice deal though, I like the engraving.

The best faux ivory I have ever come across was the Tru-Ivory made by Bar-S Grips. You had your choice of varying shades of ivory, from new ivory (like on my Ruger Vaquero), to aged ivory with a yellow kind of cast to it.

I also found American Holly wood to be a decent looking substitute for the real thing (as seen on my Ruger Flattop Blackhawk).

As for polymer ivory grips, hey what can I say I just like the look of ivory colored grips, especially if the gun is blued; that and I can't afford the real thing!

Well it will be here Friday, I have a soft spot for the 1858 and even though I promised myself not to buy anything until I payed off other things, I could not pass it up. If need be, I could get some wood grips for it!

You won't find any bolt on grips. Not even take offs.

Not even those. Unless they have changed in the last few years the Italians finish out the grips and the grip frames with the grips mounted so no two sets are exactly the same. If you get a set that actually fits without work consider yourself lucky. I've bought four sets of take off grips. Two for a Uberti 73 Colt and two for a Pietta Remington and none of them were close enough to make work.

I've seen "engraving" that looked more like roll stamping to me, but I'm no expert on all the technologies available to faux engrave a revolver.
That image doesn't look like the laser engraving I've seen, but I'm sure it isn't hand engraved that's for sure.
