Need 10MM powder suggestions

I use 8.0 gr of PowerPoint and 7.6 gr of BE-86 with 180 gr Hornady XTP and 1.25 COL for 10MM. Both shoot well.

I also use 8.0gr Power Pistol with my 180's.
Good load (not "nuclear" of course) out of my 1006.

Sitting on a couple lbs of BE-86.

Liking it in 9mm loads and looking forward to working with it in the 10mm.

I have been eyeing n105 for 357 but wondering if you tried that and had a result that wasn't good.

I have as well but it’s not available locally to me that I can find.

Have you used 3N37 or 3N38 with hot magnum loads? If so, what were your results?

Thanks!

800X is the cats meow for 10MM. Glad I still have 4 lbs left.

Unfortunately I'm out. Same with 700X - just enough kernels to make noise in the can. 800X is almost comical relating to the granule size of the powder. It is HUGE.

We call them cornflakes. Was down to 1 lb but ran into some last year at a gun show. Grabbed all 3 he had.

So far I've tried 231, Unique, BE86, Power Pistol, AA#7, and Longshot. My favorites are 231 for target loads and Longshot for the fire-breathing full power loads. No complaints though on any of the other powders. I think they all do very well.

I was lucky enough to pick up 3 lbs of AA#9 recently, so I'll be loading up a bunch of test loads with that soon.

No, thanks for asking but I didn't have N105 at the time. VV lists some interesting loads with N105, for example 1260fps with a 185gr XTP in 45 auto. I have a bottle now but haven't gone back yet.

AA#9 seems to like the 200’s better than 180’s. Stick with Longshot for 180’s.

Yep, makes sense. Most of the bullets I use in 10mm are my own cast 175 TC and 180 grain RNFP, but I do have a thousand 200 grain Speer Gold Dots, and several hundred 200 grain cast RNFP bullets from Montana Bullet Works. I don't remember specifics off the top of my head, but if I remember right, the load data I've seen indicates AA#9 doesn't provide much more velocity over Longshot and AA#7, even with the 200 gr bullets. Of course, life is not just about velocity, so I'm curious if #9 might be more accurate with those loads in my gun.

As a side note, I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised at the accuracy of my Lee 175 grain TC over 5.5 grains of 231. Nice and soft target load with laser beam accuracy. So far my carry load when I head out into the woods is the Montana Bullets 200 grain RNFP over a heavy charge of Longshot.

Just got back from my LGS.

They've had #9 and Longshot every time I've been in there throughout this latest "drought" but I haven't picked any up because they've also had a 1bottle/day limit and in was busy buying 8208, 4198 and Re7 for other projects.

Today I decided to get some but, of course, now that I want it, they're sold out (and they got rid of their daily limit)

I found, and was satisfied with, a nice, paper punching load with Power Pistol and 180's, but this thread has inspired me to explore the performance of the 10mm further.

All this talk of heavyweight bullets has me wanting to experiment with them as well.

I don't live where bears are a problem and I no longer hunt so, I've only ever messed with 175-180gr projectiles but I like that the 10 has data for such a large range of bullet weights; 135gr through 230gr (maybe even more) and a large range of powders.
