Your ideal tribute firearm

A good friend inherited some money from his grandmother. He had a customm Black Widow recurve built for him. With an inscription that read "in loving memory......"

I thought that was timeless and classy. He hunts with it exclusively.
I would be sure to buy something that I used often, but wouldn't buy for myself. Be it gun, bow, knife, canoe, hunting trip of a lifetime, dream backpack, thermal scope, e-bike, satphone.

If it were me....I would get a grail gun with the money. Probably a 45-70 Sharps of some kind, or my dream Alaska defensive pistol 1911 10mm or 44mag s&w 29 3".

I did this back in 2018 when my mom died. She told me to take part of the money she left me, and buy something I had always wanted. She insisted that it be something I would otherwise, never buy for myself. Well, after talking with her about it (she was in hospice care for 18 days before she passed), I decided on a Falkor Defense Omega. I wanted an extremely accurate AR in 6.5 Creedmoor and my research and personal testimonies from a couple friends convinced me that the Falkor was the way to go.

I went with a coppery, burnt bronze color in the camo job because Mom’s name is Penny. I don’t shoot it as much as I should, but every time I take it out of the safe, I think about my mom. If I was to do it all over again, I think I’d have gone with a custom stocked Ruger No. 1 instead, but that‘s neither here nor there.

If I were to get a tribute rifle in memory of my Dad it would have to be a Garand, a BAR or a Naval gun up to a 16"/50 calibers.
Apparently, he went ashore at Inchon as a Marine Forward Observer attached to an Army unit.
Later in life he couldn't legally touch a firearm, however, so perhaps an empty box might be more appropriate.
(I loved my Dad but I didn't like him very much.)
