Did Ruger discontinue this rifle? I can’t seem to find them in stock anywhere. I would think they would be well supported. I saw them go from four hundred to six and now I don’t see them at all. I see many good reviews.

I hope it hasn't been discontinued. I really like those and now I'm regretting not buying that one that I was fondling at a gun show about 3 years ago. Discontinuance will probably(?) drive up the price of any that appear on the used market.

I have two and can tell you they are great shooters. I bought one when they first came out and my son quickly took it from me. I bought a second one when they were on sale several years ago and am glad I did. Both shoot great with Golden Tiger and I have a pretty good stock of that ammo. They make great truck/camping/ATV rifles.

I recently emailed Ruger about another product and was told that all items listed on the website are still in production. I bet these are just popular and hard to find.

I hope you are able to locate one.

I have a mini thirty and have been working on piling up mags with the idea I will buy the bolt to be it’s companion. I want to set it up with a scout mount if possible. I was looking for a whack a mole kit as well so I could hand load some little oddball stuff. I also notice not many others make a x39 rifle anymore.

Is 6.5 creedmore really that popular?

Discounting 5.56 brass, the amount of 6.5 CR brass I pick up at the range outnumbers ALL the other chamberings put together. There is still quite a bit of .308 brass but the 6.5 CR outnumbers it probably 3-1 at my range, with 5.56 being by far the most fired. I have so much 6.5 CR brass now I don't even pick it up unless it looks shiny and pristine. Your mileage may vary.

they've been hard to find for last 2-3 years. some on gunbroker sold for over $1000. saw one in my rural king a couple months ago, and was surprised that it was there for a couple weeks. there are a few on GB

If it's on the Ruger site, it's still catalogued. Ruger produces everything in batches. I've been waiting for over a year for the 6.5Grendel version. I see now they're finally easily found on Gunbroker. So thanks a lot, you just cost me $500. :p

Ooooh, I've been wanting one of those too. I don't have the cash to spend right now of course though.

Send some my way! I can't find any brass locally

I assume that that ammo is .311, then the Rugers must be also. Am I correct?

I have not slugged my barrels, but my understanding is that Ruger went with .311 barrels. I have also had good luck with Wolf, but GT works best in both.

They are great rifles.

ETA: I like this guy's reviews. They are pretty straight forward and not sugar coated.

I love my 7.62x39 ruger.
A low mounted cabelas house brand 3x9x40 and its off to the races.
No problems with it from 10-400 yds.

Other than some really random fliers from some really cruddy chi-com surplus that smells like cat pee when fired.

I just wish the FP was just a hairs touch longer. It takes a second hit to ignite a few really hard primed primers.

She's also a beautiful suppressor host.

That video,(thanks for posting) really has me kicking myself for not buying that one I was looking at 3 years ago. Haven't seen a 7.62x39 version in person since then. Was at a gun show in Rochester NY yesterday and saw one on a table, got all excited until I saw that it was chambered in 350 Legend. I'm holding out for the 7.62x39 model and even happen to have a 1-4x Leupold sitting around that I'm not currently using.
