Got out with a friend the other day for an end of summer range day. We both brought a Shield 9mm plus I had my Ruger SR9C and my S&W model 442. My buddy had his S&W models 66 and 360j along. We warmed up pinging some steel then started some self defense drills. We do a lot of shooting while moving
Had a good start with the Shield

Spent almost 3 hours shooting the targets & shooting the breeze

“Beware the man sporting tie-dye…”;)

Perfect weather, good friend, fun guns. Looks to me to be the recipe for a great day.

Stay safe.
I almost always wear a tie dye at the range. It started with me telling friends that there was no way they were going to use the old, “I didn’t see him down there” excuse when they are trying to explain why they shot me. This is from my previous range trip

And this one from late June. We built a target stand that rocks left & right which I am engaging here. You shoot when it peeks out from behind the other stand in front of it

Nice! I see a blaze orange/neon green combo in your future.

I did led a tie dye activity day at an area church camp for 5 years or so, a few years back. I made one each time along with a few extras to experiment with making different patterns with the left over dye. As a result, I have 7 or 8 along with a couple long sleeve Tee’s

I got invited to a similar day today at one of the very nice private (member/guest) ranges down here. Of course it was 90 degrees, so the run and gun stuff I haven’t done in a while took its toll. I dried up like a raisin after four and a half hours out there!

I have four milk crates worth of steel plates/targets in the garage, so I brought a few to add to the ones my friends have. The range bay was roughly 50x50 yards square, so we had plenty of space between setups.

One of the guys was a regular IDPA/3-gun competitor and he gave a bunch of tips to two of the other guys who are a bit less experienced pistoleros. This was a semi-El Presidente we were shooting, with one of the four typing paper sheets on each target called as your target on the turn rather than using the entire silhouette. (Low left! or Top right!, etc. ) Made it pretty darn challenging.

Is the dude in the long pants rockin' a mullet?

When seeing the picture, the first thing that came to mind was Rowdy Roddy Piper.
No, but it was a bit long in the back. .

I will say he was really yoked, easily going 6’3” and 275. The CZ 75 Shadow 2 I just picked up looked like a cap gun in his paws. (Thats my Glock 34 he is pointing in the bottom pic.)

He was a really cool guy; super patient and helpful with the newer shooters. First time I met him, sure made for a fun day indeed.

Stay safe.
