Arrived today, a 1926 born on date and all original with box and instructions. I replaced all the springs and she’s tight and ready to go.
Nice to find one with the case hardening still intact after all these years.

It wouldn't be if I owned it either. I got lucky and found a '21 08 to go with the '21 03 I already owned.

Now you need a 1926 '03 to go with it!

I am looking; I think the 03’s are one of the most beautiful pistols ever made. Classy and elegant. I haven’t found the right one yet. The problem will be the $$$$$ when I find the one I want.

That looks outstanding. Mine was made in 1918, but definitely doesn’t look nearly as nice as yours. Congrats!

You're looks fantastic! Here is mine (Nickel) born in 1919 with it's larger 1919 brother and a younger step-grandson.

Ed Buffaloe did one of his excellent articles about the Colt 1908 .25 : https://unblinkingeye.com/Guns/1908Colt/1908colt.html

Griffen's example is terrific. I don't like to own guns that both that old and that nice; I envy the people who can take care of them. I know if I handle it I will mess it up sooner or later, and then I will feel bad every time I look at it. I like a gun with enough wear that I can't tell what *I* did to it. :)

Have a Vest Pocket nearly that nice, with just a wee bit of concrete rash on top of the slide. :(
Had a 950 Beretta (wish I'd kept it), and found a minty Beretta 418. And I'd love to have a Walther TPH in .25.
The ammo is moderately expensive, and Dillon doesn't even make dies for it.
For the OP, great catch!

That’s quite a specimen. Probably the nicest Vest Pocket that I have ever seen.

The gentleman next to me at the range yesterday was shooting one and seemed to be having a good time. Small world. :)

I almost didn't like OP's post because 25 members did already....Great looking gun by the way

Had any of the springs actually become weak, or was this just preventative maintenance to replace the springs?

The recoil spring was misshapen a bit, but I ordered springs to replace them anyway, after all, it is nearly 100 years old. Re-assembly can be a bit cumbersome and the recoil springs can get out of sorts during the process. I plan to shoot it some and possibly carry occasionally, so all clear on the internals is a must.

Congratulations, Griffen. That is a beauty. I have a 1908 which is functional, but not nearly in the condition of yours. I collect early (pre-WW2) .32 ACP pistol and recently started on the same era .25 ACP pistols as well.

I do not carry* either caliber, the history is fascinating. (*-I do have an engraved 1903 Colt with [non-factory] engraving. I'll carry that if invited to a black tie event.)
