Hello y'all! I have been wanting to get an upper in 45acp for my ar pistol lower with a Franklin armory trigger and Sig brace but haven't had much luck finding all the right parts in stock lately. I can find 9mm stuff like it's going out of style but I hate 9mm lol. 45 or bust! Anyway, I was looking at new frontier armory as we have a dealer account with them but their 45acp parts seem to be perpetually OOS... I wish Areo Precision would hurry up and come out with their EPC in 45acp... And I'd like for someone to make a 1911 mag adapter for AR15 lowers... I'd pay a lot of money for one... Anyone else either rocking an AR45 or wanting one? Or should I just save up for a Kriss Vector?

Ive never seen a .45 one, just AR9 and AR40’s so far. An AR45 would be cool if it took double stack mags (Like Glock, HK, or STI-2011 pattern, etc.)

Good luck with your quest!

Stay safe.

I have a Just Right carbine and you can change calibers from 9mm/40S&W/45ACP with caliber conversion kits - https://justrightcarbines.com/product/caliber-conversion-kit/?v=7516fd43adaa

1:16 barrel twist rate (Compared to 1:10 of many AR based PCCs) has produced greater accuracy and is my primary PCC load accuracy testing platform.

And due to modular magwell design, you can switch between Glock, M&P and 1911 magazines. I run my conversions with Glock 17/22/21 magazines.

In addition to bolt/ejection port being fully ambidextrous, you can use the Takedown tube to make the JR carbine a "Take Down" carbine - https://justrightcarbines.com/product/takedown-tube-2/?v=7516fd43adaa

CMMG Banshee or Resolute - glock mags
Macon Armory does a Blowback or DI option, 45 ACP upper with custom mags-
try them-
Huh, the Macon mags look like grease gun mags? Cause if that's actually what they are then I may have to snag one of their blowback conversion kits.... Now the question is will it work with Franklin Armory binary triggers? Cause a redneck "auto" grease gun AR hybrid would be sick!

call Rudy up at Macon Armory - in my experience he's a straight shooter and will answer any questions you have. He took the time to answer all the questions I had when I was looking for a custom 38Super TJ Upper build...He owns the company and answers the phones
they are like grease gun mags...or uzi mags...straight stick magazines.

Ok, after reading their about info on the website I may go with a gas operated version instead cause they say it has very minimal recoil. But yeah I'll try to contact them and ask about their mags and what triggers will work cause a lot of PCCs will require certain triggers... Thanks for letting me know about them!

While gas operated delayed recoil is certainly better than blow back action PCC, quite many 3-gun match shooters have tamed the recoil using different buffer/recoil spring weights while extending/delaying dwell time so that case/bolt/buffer stays in contact with chamber longer to optimize chamber pressures and consistency to improve accuracy - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-cal-still-around.863893/page-3#post-11397874

Check out this thread/post regarding taming the recoil to where the front sight remains "flat" on target for fast follow up shots, including magnetic delayed blowback option - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/9mm-pcc-bolt-choice.903452/#post-12248344

If you are building a PCC that does not maintain 100% reliability in feeding from the magazine, increasing rate of fire will simply going to make the feeding problem worse. Reason why so many of us migrated from Colt pattern PCCs using stick magazines to Glock pattern PCCs is Colt pattern PCCs require the round from magazine to "bump" the feed ramp/fingers before going into the chamber while Glock pattern PCCs have rounds essentially going straight into the chamber. (No brainer why Glock pattern/compatible PCCs are more reliable feeding from the magazine.)

And if you go with Just Right carbine, you won't even have to worry about bolt/hammer clearance/compatibility issues or reliability of feeding/chamber issues using stick magazines (I switched to dedicated Glock compatible/pattern lowers after experiencing some feeding/chambering issues with Colt pattern lower PCCs) and my Just Right carbine along with New Frontier Armory (Sold by Joe Bob Outfitters) Glock compatible receivers have been 100% reliable feeding from the magazine.

Running binary trigger will shoot a lot of rounds and you may need this 40 round drum magazine that's not available for Colt pattern PCCs -

While the Macon Armory mags look like M3 grease gun mags, they are slightly thinner to fit a standard AR15 magwell. GI grease gun mags are just a tad to wide to fit into a standard AR15 magazine well without mods.

Yes he is. He is also pretty active on ARFCOM (when he gets time between machining stuff)

You are not alone. But I’ll take mine in a double stack Glock magazine, or more likely, the aforementioned drum.:D

I often peruse Macon’s site. I find the uppers perpetually Out Of Stock. It causes me to have irrational ideas of suppressing my 450Bushmaster instead.

What is it about the ACP an ARs? Why is there not a better melding of these two American Icons?!
We have pistol length gas tube for the Blackout, there are appropriate bolts from the blow back carriers, Glock mags. I’ll even acquiesce to small primer brass if I can have a 45Auto AR.(But I won’t like it.:()

In an effort for more support I will rally Aero’s phone center this week.:)

Part of the reason is that it takes a specially designed and dedicated lower to fit double stack 45 ACP magazines. If you look at the lowers made for either M3 or Glock magazines, the magwell is wider than a standard AR15 magwell.

Yes you can modify a M3 mag by squeezing it until it fits not the STANAG magwell, but there is no guarantee on the function afterwards. And this is also why Macon make proprietary magazines.

Bazooka Brothers use to make a hybrid lower that would fit M3 mags and still work with standard AR mags. I don't know if they still make them or not.

Very interesting website. I don’t prefer the grease gun magazines, but it seems a lower made for 45 Auto is only $465.
Unfortunately they are not very specific about their products, leaving only very vague descriptions. I wonder if these are DI or not?

Now I want one. I’m not up for cheese grater, maybe I could fashion my own upper together.

Maybe I really DO need a PCC, in 45!

Reading Bazooka Bros webpage, they use RMW Extreme 45 uppers which are direct impingement according to the RMW website. https://www.rmwxtreme.com

As far as I know, RMW Extreme and Macon Armory are really the only companies that make a DI 45 upper. CMMG has their delayed blow back uppers too. I have never handled or shot a RMW upper so can't comment. I do know that Macon Armory stuff is good to go and functions well. Plus everyone that owns a Macon Armory upper has been very happy.
