The only way I would trust a polymer lower would be if holes for the pins had bushings and the rear have a metal support for the tube, I can't see a polymer upper being precise enough and strong enough to mount the barrel but with metal inserts like they do for their slides I feel the BCG area would be OK.
I also would like to see one in pistol calibers and able to take Glock mags for a reasonable price and due to the lower pressures it might be doable
I love having another AR. I’m simply wary of Glock coming in at this stage of the game. Where were they in 2004-2005? Where were they in 2012? It’s only NOW they have decided to Grace the AR world with their presence. Ok, well everyone here has been building AR’s longer… some of us MUCH longer. Yes, there are some ignorant fan boys who will line up and pay whatever Glock wants. This same thread is going on at my PA guns forum, and there are a couple fan boys there who are already at half mast.
The only AR that is new and I would consider purchasing is the new Ruger 308. As for making a reliable .22 pistol, Ruger has been doing that for quite a while.
So several years ago, from out of nowhere, Springfield decides to build their own AR & call it the Saint! And it is a miserable failure! It’s an overpriced, $500 AR.
