you can see a sliver of my sling, lower right. Not tacticool but cool.the sling attachments which allow you to hang your shotgun on walls and stuff
. That remains to be seen. It’s the cheapest mount I could find but seems sturdy. I will be using it sparsely so a maybe a hundred rounds is all I needInterested in how that mount holds up, them 88s kick pretty good.
Reviews on the Maverick 88 are overwhelmingly positive. It’s a $200 shotgun. I didn’t expect a lot of bells and whistles when I plunked down my debit card.I am surprised that the Maverick 88 shotguns are not drilled and tapped for a mount. It's not like it would take very long to do so at the factory. Having the receiver drilled and tapped makes it nicer and easier to mount optics.

Because then it becomes basically an M500, and costs the same, and becomes redundant in their line-up. The first M88 I bought @ 30 years ago only had one action slide bar and the receiver slot wasn't milled for the second bar. The 88 is the work-truck/rental-fleet equivalent in the Maverick/Mossberg line-up.
