I went to the Tulsa Gun Show on Saturday and it was amazing. For those who haven't been the show is held in the Tulsa County Fair Grounds IPE building which is a large impressive building with eleven acres of floor space. There's probably 60 acres of parking and when I arrived at 11 am it took me about 20 minutes to find a place to park because every spot on the fairgrounds was filled. I had to wait for someone to leave to get a parking spot. It was about 40 degrees outside and a long cold walk to the door.

Inside there was at least 20 thousand people and in about 10 minutes my head was spinning from dodging people and looking at tables. The crowd was friendly and excited and I stayed about two hours in which I managed to sell a Model 70 rifle, buy 50 rounds of new Nosler brass, and a box of Sierra bullets. I talked to the owner of Champlin Firearms in Enid and I reminded him that about 30 years ago he took me into his vault and let me hold the double rifle that Robert Redford used in the movie Out of Africa. He told me he still owns the rifle. Robert Redford.jpg I went home happy but every year I tell myself I won't go again until I have another rifle to sell.

I used to go 2x a year, only lived 2 hrs away. It was great up until around the sandy hook timeframe, they used to sell tons of reloading supplies & had good vendors like Midway & SWFA. I even bought a new Ithaca 87 from Ithaca themselves there, But since then, no real bargins, its mostly overpriced pawn shop type vendors. No reloading supplies anymore.

Yes, I agree with you completely. The days of reloading supplies and gun parts are long gone. I always look for the high end Model 70 tables because once in a while they will have a used stock or bottom metal but I have to wade through a lot of uninteresting tables and junk to get there. With a little patience it's possible to find bargains because people bring things they do not need. I sold my rifle at a really good price and I bought 50 rounds of hard to find Nosler 280 brass for $50 which is a good price. The box of 100 Sierra GameKing 277 bullets was $20 and the savings paid my way through the door. There is usually a good supply of Ace gun cases which are about 50 percent cheaper than on the internet and they are a good buy. I used to go twice a year but when the gun parts quit coming I only go once a year if I have something to sell. It's kind of like driving through Plano Texas on Highway 75. Get in the center lane and hang onto the steering wheel.

I haven't been in several years. I didn't know they didn't have reloading supplies any longer. I remember when I was there I was tempted to buy a keg of H110 powder. I forget now how many pounds it was.

The large reloading supply companies don't come now because they don't have any products to sell. Various items are found on the individual sellers tables but it's hard to find items that you are looking for. I went to one of the local reloading supply stores in Tulsa on Monday called Dong's and they did have the items I purchased at the show. The 50 Nosler cases that I bought at the gunshow for $50 was priced by Dong's at $75. I bought a box or Sierra bullets for $20 and Dong's was selling them for $34. The people coming to the gunshow have doubled in the past 5 years and the crowd is overwhelming. Come again in April 2023, you need the experience.
