Just got this fellow together. 1-3/4" barrel with a detent added to the crane, new front sight, bobbed hammer with hand-cut 40 LPI checkering. The trigger-guard is relieved on the right side to allow smooth access to the trigger from the 'safe' position alongside the frame. The DA trigger is now a silky-smooth 6.5 lbs., but I haven't messed with the mainspring. Finished with custom antler grips and and antler grip adapter. I like it; it really nails the look and feel I was going for.

Did you make your grips? Could you please add a photo of the inside of the grip adapter? I’m curious about how the metal is secured to the antler material.

If it's stupid and it works...
Obviously couldn't rivet it. Thought about a screw, but that seemed sub-optimal as well. I used a carbide burr in my Foredom Tool to make a rectangular recess for the clip, then super-glued it in place. Well aware that would not hold I filled the cavity with grinder dust and dripped more superglue in. One it cured I could not pull the clip out (and I am pretty strong.) The concave inside of the adapter stabilizes it against the frame and locks it in place. could probably knock the adapter off the gun with a hammer and punch, but short of that it's not going anywhere.

That's very cool. I really like the grip adapter. You could probably sell those for a good amount, but it looks like it is probably not a quick and easy item to make

Tinker

There are snubbies and then there are your snubbies!!!

Like the concept and love the antler grip and grip adapter too!

They aren't too bad, but my supply of material is unreliable and they cost about three times as much as regular grip adapters.
They wouldn't be for everyone, but I could see someone with a high end S&W wearing stags seeing that and thinking they gotta have one. If you're willing to spend $300 for a set of grips on your $1600 gun, then what's another $120? :)

Super glue mixed with baking soda is supposed to make a strong bond... so sez Youtube anyway.

I've used that combo for gluing broken ABS plastic back together. The baking soda is used to build up supporting areas of glue. It has to get thick, like a bead of weld. However, it's still not as strong as the original ABS before it broke.
