What is the most recent knife you bought?

Everyone here is extolling the virtues of their inexpensive Mora’s, so I picked up a pair to keep in the cars, just because.

Tried one, shaved the hair on the back of my hand, pretty sharp as far as I’m concerned. Under $25 for the pair, delivered, in stainless.

First Mora I’ve bought since I got that wood handled one in Sweden about 50 years ago. Still no rust, when they say stainless they mean it.

Can anyone tell me what that "button" is for on the front of the sheath?

Unless I'm mistaken -- isn't the "button" for daisy-chaining the sheath to another Mora sheath with a reciprocal female "socket"?

I just hung the sheath on the front button of my shirt today while planing garlic.

Yes, you can connect Mora sheaths to each other so you can carry more than one knife intended for different purposes.

Don't need a pair of Ka-Bar BK2s, but....
Ordered The FDE version on Amazon last Wednesday....at a gun show on Saturday i spotted another NIB BK2 and had to buy it because the package deal price on it and a BK16 was too good to pass on.
Oh well...no complaints.

You may want to keep an eye out for discounts on the micarta scales for the BK16. They greatly improved mine.

Does $35 on Amazon sound like a good deal?? I have yet to look anywhere else.

Thanks!!. I like it... small and very simple.

..edit to add...just ordered one. Thanks again.

Couple more Ka-Bars arrived today. The 5705 "Zomstro" knife is on clearance at less than half price. Both green and black handles are included. Ordered one for my brother as well, but he won't get to keep it unless he helps clear brush...and i won't turn my back to him either:D

Anyone heard of the Ideal shirt company knives made in Germany between 1920-1940? I picked this up a t an estate sale. It is marked Solingen Othello
I wonder if it is just that Solingen Othello a knife manufacturer sold knives to the Ideal Shirt Company for marketing?

When the Draper Felt Company was in business making papermaking felts they handed out of the best single blade folders.
There was a rope Company that did the same. I don't remember who actually produced the knives for them?

I think I gave my last William Kenyon (paper carrier rope company) knife to one of my crew. They were some of the sharpest easiest to sharpen blades you could find.

I have a mid length papermaker knife that was used for slabbing paper. The safety departments kept shortening the blades to prevent cuts. The papermaker would hold on the the blade while slabbing and cut themselves. 20221204_093345.jpg 20221204_093357.jpg

These are numbered knives. Lovely ergos. Beautiful grind. Carries great.

That light spot on the titanium in the first pic is a smudge on my phone's camera lense, not an imperfection in the finish.

At their heart they are just another titanium frame lock, but there’s something about this design isn’t there?

I overpaid but I’m glad to have one. It’s also inspiring me to move stuff out.

CKF makes really, really slick knives. In every way - they come covered in some exceptionally slippery grease and should not be opened over a granite counter or concrete floor... Ask me how I know.
