Regs for upcoming hog hunt on a federal wildlife refuge are kind of tough to make happen. Oddly the muzzleloader was easy, Hornady Monoflex saboted bullets I found almost immediately. Already worked up a good shooting load. 90 grs. of Shooters world Multi Purpose Black pushed them to less than 1.5 inch groups easily. Cleanup is also easy. The shotgun is an entirely different story. Availability of good saboted led free ammo is poor to say the least. I can find the Brenneke TKO which shoots a zinc bullet that looks like a rifled slug. Then there is the DDuplex solid steel load which I fooled with a couple years ago and my shotgun really disliked them. I do have a new to me rifled barrel on the way in 12 gauge. When it gets here I will check it out shooting some of the Zinc loads. I would like to find either the Federal copper saboted slugs or the Hornady Monoflex slugs but so far zilch. So much is just out of stock. Getting on my nerves.

ammoseek.com shows six sites with Hornady 2.75" 300 gr Monoflex slug ammo in stock. Search parameters: 12 ga., Hornady, and "monoflex"

Well I ended up finding some 12 gauge Hornady Monoflex loads. Hope it doesn't take a lot of shooting to sight them in. I missed the window for the Federal Trophy Copper load but lucked into the Hornady shells.
