Primers

Hard to count em after the fire though. Imagine the litigation if just 19,999 spent primers were found.

But seriously, I’m guessing there is embedded somewhere in my insurance policy or local laws that simply references that code (as it does other private standards setting organization codes) and says something like “homeowner agrees to follow this code.”

You are likely to find that many laying on the floor, I am lazy about cleaning them up.

I have seen siblings hate each other and resort to things I never thought possible after the last parent dies off. Everything is spelled out in my wife and my will. The kids also understand exactly how things will play out. When our mom passed her wishes were clear. There are four of us and everything was to be divided equally with a few things designated. We all had a copy of mom's will and now each of our children has a copy of our will. My son has access to my gun safe and how guns are to be divided among the grandchildren.

I agree, it is just shameful what people will do. I have also seen it first hand. Who the hell steals a vacuum cleaner? I had to lock them out of the house to stop the non stop flow of stuff out of the house.

I will also say you have said how you want it done, but you have no voice after you are gone, and people are going to do what they want, not what the one dead wanted. Seen that first hand as well. If you want something somewhere you better put it there yourself. That is the lesson life.....and death have shown me.

This is a regional issue for local stores. Things are hit or miss on the shelf.

Just about everything is in stock online. Not 24/7 every day, but things come and go and are generally available with a little bit of leg work. Sure, some specific favorite powders or bullets may still be rare, but for the most part just about anything a reloader could want is available. You may have to order from a few different places on different days of the week, but it is no where near the scarcity it was 1-2 years ago.
This has been my experience, anyway.

Prices, well, that's a different discussion.

So it’s at least 1964 (or late 63). Where & what?

That is in 1963 Winchester Virginia; that was the new show room being added to display kitchens; we made kitchen cabinets tree in one door your kitchen out the other, by the time I was 12 I could run almost any piece of woodworking equipment there was.

You can't tell it but mostly rich customers on US 50 east or Virginia route 7 east. All custom work.

Love Winchester! Should’ve moved there when I retired.

For your insurance company that would be 20,000 in a residential dwelling. National Fire Safety code. ;)
I'm in trouble. I'm over twice that just in small primers. I suppose I can prime all of my empty brass to cut that well back. Just got in 500 new Starline cases in 6.8 SPC. That adds to the 500 cases in .224 Valkyrie.
Nope...even priming all my pistol cases I'll still have too many.

Yeah, stock varies day to day. That's the rub. If you need it right away, it can be a problem.
I keep a list of what I'm looking for and browse around every now and then. I've been able to get what I needed without too much hassle.
Good luck to you. Hopefully what you are looking for pops up soon.

Here’s my list of what I need:
1. Time

It’s pretty short. ;)

20 years and 10 days ago I was told I had about 3 months to live. Time is short and precious.

I was told in May of ‘19 I only had 5 good years left - the other 15-20 are going to suck!

I was told at the age of 12 that I would be in a wheelchair within 5 years, and it would be for the rest of my life. 55 years old now, and still no wheelchair or walking aids, although some days are harder than others.

And about two months ago I was diagnosed with thrombocythemia, a rare form of blood cancer. I think I'll survive this too, at least for a while. Something is going to get all of us at some point in time, but staying positive goes a long way towards staying alive.

Back to primers, they are not terribly hard to find right now. Expensive compared to a couple of years ago when I started loading, but right now everything is more expensive than a couple of years ago. Powder is becoming available again too, although it might not be exactly what you want. Bullets and brass haven't been a problem for me these last couple of years.

So when life gives you lemons, make lemonade, or onion soup, or whatever else that brings joy into your life. Life is short, and primers will come back, so enjoy the time you have, because tomorrow isn't promised.
