Outdoorsman holster.

The model 10 arrived today!
It was dirty, dry, and bubba'd.....but it's mine now....;)

Live and learn......it was cheap! Here's why....:fire:

What kind of a doofus....?
Would do THIS!?
Oh well....it was cheap.
Yeah that scrawled number on the side is a bit disappointing no doubt, but the rest of the revolver looks really nice. I wonder if that number was some inventory control number for a LEO or security department.

Armored, here are a cpl of mine, the first with a M-66, the 2nd with a 686. They're fitted tight for use while on farm machinery as well as horseback. I don't build them with a retention strap for that reason. Both were built for daily use in the country and ride high on the belt. That allows concealed use with a shirt tail out or a jacket. The first pic shows how we wear them, and you can see that it's possible to tuck the muzzle into a rear jeans pocket to aid concealment...and the cant allows for a firm, shooting grip on the gun as the draw movement begins.

El Paso Saddlery makes a similar one; the "Austin" IIRC. Theirs has a retention strap and is a 1st rate piece of leather work...a lifetime holster. Rod

Here's my temporary truck/jeep gun kit.
It's a rather generic looking Hunter adjustable strap model: 20230130_111809.jpg
It fits fine and will be sufficient for my needs for the time being until this pistol either grows on me, or I move on to something else. So far....I like it.

The roads are too slick for me to haul corn to town....so I'm in the heated shop puttering around the combine, waiting for lunchtime....watching sheep hunting videos on YouTube, and swapping out my 1911-22 kit for the model 10 .38spl kit.

Five seven in a military flap holster works well too. In my shop as well. See the blue 4 post in the back ground

Looks like a police evidence engraving. They used to do that to all incoming firearms. Edit: a SSN?
Yep. It appears to be a ss#.
I screwed up...I saw the ss# early on and didn't save the gun to the watch list because of it. Later I saw how cheap it was and bid a decent price if I was won it....I forgot about the ss#......guess what?! I won!
Woo-hoo! I won a good buy!....
I got the gun home.....guess what?....it's the one with the ss# scrawled on it!....oh yeah....now I remember that I was not going to bid on that one.....:uhoh:

Oh well. It shoots fine....and it was cheap....ish.

Armored farmer

For Christmas one of my kids got me an Azula holster for my Ruger Wrangler. I was impressed by the design, quality of the leather, and workmanship. They seem to be reasonably priced too!

That's a nice looking s/a holster.
My Python is in an Azula holster.
I wear and Azula gunbelt for work, and another for casual.

Ceracoat finish. Not even shipped yet!
Nice! @mcb was influential in me starting to want one again, then the other day I read a post you @Armored farmer made stating “model 10s are cheap on gunbroker right now”.
So I got on there and prices were good. When I went into Birmingham today I stopped at a shop and they had a number of model 10s. I asked to see this one and was handling it back to the clerk after examining it and he said to name my price, so I did, he countered, I declined then he went for my original price. I feel like a got a good deal at $350. He called my bluff I never thought he would go down that much. Happy camper here. Bit of holster wear, grips a little beat up, few tiny rust spots and I also have an engraved number but thankfully it’s on the backstrap.blueing is in decent shape. It’s just going to be a woods/farm gun for me anyway.I’ll try and get some better photos soon. D477175D-79A8-4F3F-AC60-DAB03D2A6F8D.jpeg

Nice!
Congrats.
That's about a twin to mine!

I have an Azula leather hip holster for my 64-5 the same size as your pistol. It's a bit more expensive but quite light for a good leather holster. Made in America too.
