Suggest an aftermarket trigger for Glock

All the triggers on my glocks are stock and never really felt the need to upgrade since I don't shoot competition or with a shot timer or anything but lately I've been thinking I might like to put an aftermarket trigger in one of my Glocks. It needs to be reliable for carrying and doesn't have to be super light but basically what I'm after is very clean, crisp break with lil take up and shorter reset. Could anybody suggest an aftermarket trigger or spring/connector to accomplish this?

After going through many Glock triggers up to $200 (most recent in my G29), I've come to the conclusion that the return on investment isn't there. You cannot un-glock a glock trigger. About the only perceptible difference is some remove the wall making it single stage.

The $.25 trigger job, combined with a flat trigger shoe for ~$20 is how I will move forward. My best Glock trigger is OEM polished up with an Overwatch Percision flat shoe. Seriously, I've spent well over $1000 on various Glock triggers.

My Gen 5 G20 MOS will be getting the same treatment.

I have always liked the glock trigger even though it's certainly not anybody's idea of tuned and smooth, I've always been partial to most likely because I just got used to it. I really don't even need a lighter pull weight or a smoother trigger, I'd just be happy to shorten the reset a lil bit.

It may be just in my head, but the flat trigger that breaks at 90° makes it feel like it accomplishes this.

I have tried several. Timney is the best so far and I love it in my G44 but I would never carry it.

Watch the Johnny Glock videos on You Tube. I have a JG in my G43X. It is superb.

I have actually watched a few of his videos and wondered if anybody here has interacted or purchased from him. It seems like he eats, sleeps and breathes Glock trigger jobs and even puts his personal contact info out there to talk if you want to.

Thanks for the reminder on Johnny Glocks, that might be the way to go. Do you mind if I ask, what did you pay for your JG trigger job?

It’s been a while but I think $230? It was the most expensive trigger option but it is a great trigger.

After watching his video on the new Glock performance trigger, I am seriously considering his trigger for my G19-5. But as a frugal guy, I’m still working the price tag through my mind.

I really like the Timney trigger, but I don’t trust it to carry.

I just watched Pt.1 of that video earlier today and am getting through Pt.2. One of the commenter said the Glock Performance Trigger was $100. Doesn't sound too bad, a gun shop about an hour from me just got 10 of them in the shop but he didn't post a price. I'd like to get some more feedback from people on those, or maybe I'll just wing it and give one a try.

""It needs to be reliable for carry.""
Just know that if you use that carry gun in any self-defense situation your gun will be dissected and analyzed for any mods that could lead to arrest/prosecution or a lawsuit by the person who you had to shoot.
The reason my carry guns are bone-stock.
just sayin'
.
Edit: A different story if the trigger was sold by Glock (not called a competition trigger) and installed by a certified Glock Armorer.

Watch the video where he makes some minor mods to the GPT. Very interesting.

I agree 100%. I chased that rabbit too and now just stick with OEM and a flat face trigger shoe. One of my favorites is the Polymer 80 flat face trigger shoe which can be found for around $10 online. At the most I will go with a Glock minus connector or a NDZ minus connector. I stay away from Ghost connectors since I have yet to find one I like.

Other than that I will polish/clean up all parts and carefully remove any burrs left from manufacturing. The trigger bars and connectors are stamped steel and will have some amount of burrs. Burrs will get bigger as the stamping dies wear.

I have added a Vickers Tactical flat faced trigger shoe on all of my Glocks, with the exception of a home-built Glock 17 (Apex Tactical trigger) and my two Gen 5 Glocks that kept the factory trigger shoe (G-45 and G-19X)

Gen 3 Glock 34 as an example of what the Vickers trigger looks like when fired and when reset:

The only other mods I have done are Wolff 5.0 lb striker springs, which is .5 lb less than stock, and lighter weight plunger springs. These two changes have made the triggers on all of my Glocks much more bearable, while preserving reliability. :)

Stay safe.

Yea that, and a rough shear/break finish on all the edges...
That need polishing.

I've made a decision to go with JG's Evolution X Drop-in Competition Trigger in my G34 Gen5. It's a range only pistol. For my carry pistol I will keep it stock.

Several years ago, I purchased one of the Ghost 3.5 lb. kits for a Glock. It was nice at the range but made me feel uneasy about reholstering it, etc. due to what felt like a much lighter trigger pull; maybe too light. It definitely eliminated any carry use of the pistol. The best thing about the whole deal was that it was cheap, so I didn't feel so bad about not liking it. ;)

I went down this rabbit hole a few months ago. The end result was a crappy trigger and a lighter wallet. My experience is admittedly not universal, but as far as I am concerned you can have a good Glock trigger or a reliable Glock trigger, but getting both takes more luck than I've got.

Had a Timney in a Gen5 17 which fully cocks the striker. It'll give you the light take up and reset, but I'd never carry it. I ended up buying a CZ P-10C for carry as the take up is smooth, breaks as crisp as a glass rod, and is still a fair weight for defense use.
