Is there such a thing. We use a lot of number 8 for bird control in the summer. I’ve only been able to find 23/4”. Was hoping maybe to stretch the range a bit with a bit more powder and shot. Or is there a brand in 23/4 that seems to work better? I’ve been very disappointed with Remingtons. Federal seem to do better for us at killing out to 60 yards. Any opinions or info would be appreciated.

If you find anything smaller than #6 in 3" I will be surprised.
There is a reason they don't make them, at least not with lead shot. They do make some specialized turkey loads shooting 7 and 9 shot made from tungsten that will reportedly kill a turkey at 80 yards. But they are pricey. About $15 every time you pull the trigger.

Some standard 3" turkey loads with #6 shot is probably the closest you'll find. But even that can get expensive and can be tough on the shoulder.

I might experiment with game loads shooting 1 1/4oz of #6 shot. Something similar to this.

Try using a different choke tube. Maybe even one of the super tight turkey tubes.
If that doesn't work, you'll just have to get closer.

The only thing a 3 inch shell brings is more weight in the shot charge and more recoil.. It's not like the difference between a .308 win. and a .300 win mag. Hand loading shot shells will make many things you can't buy. A 10 gauge 3.5 inch shell will probably hold 2.5 ounces of # 8 lead shot. There is load data or recipes for this but that doesn't sound like what you are trying to do. 60 yards is out of range for most people

Also on a 2oz column of shot the shot at the bottom of the stack is going to be crushed to the point where its not round anymore and flies all over the place and at the max distance you will get about as many hits on target as a good 1oz shell.

Get a good air rifle.
I spent a long time looking for small shot in 3" shells and never found any. You probably will have to get someone to reload them for you. There is logic to using a lot of small shot in some situations but not enough demand for it to have shells available.
