Out of the box the MC9 is one tight son of a b! I had a very hard time getting the slide to lock open. The take down levers were also very tight. Field stripped and lubed, off to range the following day.

Range Day 1 - Growing Pains, 1st 25 rounds (115 gr CCI Blazer) were a nightmare. FTF, FTE Stovepipes, mag falling to lock open. Brass ejecting everywhere. After those 25 or so rounds everything started working as it should. No more of the above issues in all rounds after that. The trigger didn't feel quite like my other Caniks (TP9SFX & METE SFX) I expected it to be a little heavier and thats fine but it just didn't feel right. Recoil was actually softer than my Walther PPS and thats impressive. After the gowing pains rds it ran 150 rds flawlessly. Was shooting the gun a bit to the left. Day one left me with mixed emotions.

Range day 2 - Before I headed to the range for a second time, I field stripped the gun, cleaned and lubed it. As I was working some lube into he trigger I heard and felt a slight "click". trigger seemed to be working ok, so throught nothing of it. After everything was reassembled, started to dry fire and notice that the trigger felt completely different and for the better! It now felt like a Canik trigger should. Accuracy improved immensely. The MC9 started running like a well oiled machine. 200 rds fired flawlessly. My handgun range target is a quarter size circle, shooting at 8-12 yds.

Range day 3 - All tightness gone. 200 rds fired without a single failure. Three different brands of FMJ. Extremely soft shooting firearm, I could shoot this firearm all day if I wanted too. It just keeps getting better and better. More than 95% of my shots were in the circle, the othjer 5% were just outside.

Range day 4 - Hollowpoint day. Ran over 100 rds of assorted HP's. Not a single failure. I am now more accurate with the MC9 than any other small 9 I've fired and I have fired just about all of them. After the initial short breakin this handgun has become an absolute winner. I am totally confident having this gem on my hip.

You're killing me as I'd been looking all over for one. Had to make a trip up to our cabin, there's a nice indoor range and shop on the way. Sure as **** they had an MC9 on the shelf. I wanted black, but this one was the full FDE. I gave it plenty of finger love; I tried the trigger, made sure it fit my hand, it felt great, and it pointed very naturally. The price was $399, and I told the clerk I'd take it. He then says, "Unfortunately, we are out of handgun background check forms and you won't be able to take it today."

Here in WI we have a division of the DOJ that does background checks for handguns only, and if the dealer runs out of forms...can't transfer a handgun. Ugh!! Luckily they have another store a little closer and they promised they'd have it there for me to get tomorrow. So, no gun, but without shooting it, I echo your thoughts. It was really tight.

Am hoping it proves a little softer shooting than mt 365X, but we'll see. Now that I've held it, I am quite excited. The trigger in this one seemed pretty good, had heard its heavier than the other Caniks, but not a big deal. I cannot wait to try it out.

If I didn't already have my Canik TP9 Elite SC, then I would be looking hard at the Mete MC9. The Canik triggers put the best Glock trigger I have used to shame. While I do rotate my EDC pistols, the Elite SC gets carried the most.

Yeah, all the Canik triggers take a good few hundred rounds (Or dry firing) to get to where they were designed to be, due to the tight machining. Wait until you've got 800 trigger pulls, your jaw will drop. That also means thier shootability and life expectancy is probably long. The MC9 is a different type of trigger than the SFX, METE or RIVAL families. More takeup, yet not spongey and solid tension, nice short clean break and reset. Although a different trigger direction for them, still better than every other gun its size, by alot. My guess is they did this to reduce Stress Fires from jittery carriers. My local Canik expert agrees.

I picked up my MC9 today and am stoked to go shoot it now. The local range was closed today, so this weekend I'll give it a test drive. I liked it in the store, but having had it for a few hours now. I am loving it. The mags are easy to load compared to the 365 (thanks MecGar) and it feels perfect in my paws. The trigger is in another league compared to my 365 and Hellcat Pro, and it's not a feather light break..mine's just over 5 lbs, but is perfectly crisp. The reset...forget about it. That is pure Canik. :)

The biggest selling point though...I put an 18 round mag from my SFT Pro in it. If I could put a P320 mag in the 365 I probably wouldn't have looked at the Canik, but by designing it to accept all of the other Canik mags..which are excellent - they've got a winner here.

Yeah we were swapping mags too, for how thin the gun is, I was surprised.

Well I shot my mc9 today, about 70 rounds. Was back and forth between my 365x and the Canik.

As good as the Canik is; I like the 365X better. I think it is a little softer shooting, but that’s likely down to bore axis. The MC9 feels a little top heavy.

I had zero issues with cheap Herter’s 115gr, not a bobble with it. Gonna shoot it again, but I don’t think I’m gonna keep it around long.

Took the MC9 to the range today. Fired 100 rounds of 115 gr FMJ range ammo flawlessly. My accuracy improves with every range visit.
