Hmmmm...I dunno about this one. The choice of small arms here (MP38/40) leaves me wondering about the intent/message of the whole graphic. Is the matron bearing the arms one protecting her personal safety, or one of those who would remove it from others?

Perhaps she personifies the "Nanny State" that promises safety, but delivers only slavery?

I like it as it starts the gears turning.

I don't know if I should say this, and I absolutely mean no offense to her, but...

Man hands. I get this weird feeling it's a guy dressed as a woman.

Yeah, yeah, call me crazy.

It feels like "creeping elegance" to me, or perhaps obscure subtly. Non gun folks will see one message, gun folks who know history may see another, "deeper" meaning. Sorta like me saying "Behold, The Wormhole Weapon" about a peice of legislation that looks innocuous, even beneficial and just on its face, but in the end turns out to be anything but. Ya gots to know the context of both the statement AND the underlying message.

But of course, we all know the truism about critics. :D

Edit: But then, maybe that sense of "Wrongness" is the effect you're trying to provoke.
================
creeping elegance /n./ Describes a tendency for parts of a design to become elegant past the point of diminishing return, something which often happens at the expense of the less interesting parts of the design, the schedule, and other things deemed important in the Real World.

I like it. The black and white photo, the type of weapon, style of the clothing makes me think of World War 11. This photo is what the 2nd Amendment protects us from.

"Those who rob others of their personal safety..."

Is too ambiguous. Who is doing the robbing and how.

Make it read "Those who rob others of their personal safety by disarming them..."

Get rid of the Machine Gun and replace it with a more benign looking bolt action rifle, shotgun or handgun.

Hate to say it but image counts... Get a better looking chick or perhaps add a child to the picture.

The more I come back and look at the image the more it makes sense to me. It did not at first though. Sort of "velvet glove over the iron gauntlet" type of subtle statement being made. Just my $.02

In my opinion, I see two messages here and not everybody will see them both at once.

1- Gov't "nanny state" robs people of means of defense. People need guns to fend off Nazis and other enemies, foreign and domestic, of the state/populace.

2- Gov't "nanny state" robs people of means of defense against criminal element and "we should all have SMGs."

In my opinion, the costuming gives an aura of what we should worry about rather than who should be worried enough to pack iron.

"for the children"

rrroll ze rrr's, rrroll ze rrr's. :cuss:

Myself, this is what I was talking about seeing two pictures at once. On one hand it could be the "female camp guard. On the other hand it could be a resistance fighter and everybody, I thought, knows resistance fighters dress to blend in with the rest of the populace because they work in occupied territory. One way gets sold as "forrr ze childrrren". The other way is.

Excellent message!

With Oleg's text that sure builds one heck of a strong mental graphic!

Can't fault the message Oleg ... and even the vari-size text works well for me too - but whilst the MP is historically relevant for sure - the surrounding imagery does not quite work. Could be many of us might ''expect'' to see a Waffen SS uniform on the actor.
