Brownells AR15 magazines are top notch

I have been using 6 new 30 shot magazines marketed by Brownells for a couple of weeks now and have to say they are the best new magazines I have tried.

As for the complaints I have been reading here online the only one I can agree with is the thin finish issue.
The phosphating looks good when right from the package but it doesn't take much to rub it down to a silvery gray color.
Once the finish wears to this point the underlay is durable.

The floorplates are not thin, nor weak..
Actually they are the most heavy duty that i have ever seen on an AR magazine plus they are easier than all others to remove and they do not bend.

Feed lips are well formed and there is no Mil-Spec sharp edge of the front corners of the feed lips.

Overall quality is excellent.
Dimensions are actually tighter than the Mil-Spec, these magazines fall free from my Olympic receivered varmint rifle, a weapon notorious for grabbing and holding onto magazines.

In several hundred rounds fired there are no feed mishaps, none, nada, not even one.
The ammunition used has been 55 and 62 grain mil type fmj.
facory loaded 55 soft point and my favorite 52 grain hollowpoint handload.

I can now recommend these magazines to anyone wanting decent 30 round AR15 bullet boxes.

How do they compare to the Bushmaster magazines? I can get Bushmaster mags locally for a bit less than the Brownells mags. I'm wondering if it's worth an order...

Brownells is one of the few places that I trust almost completely-when they said these were the best mags being made, I figured they were going to be good. Getting some with the next order...

Brownells mags are made by Creative Products. Creative Products does not make mil-spec mags. Bushmaster mags are made by D&H (formerly LaBelle) who does make mil-spec mags.

Little bucks with a C&R. That's as cheap as it gets folks......
I ordered some more today. My C&R paid for itself the first order I placed with Brownells.

Mountain biker try a couple or three of the Brownell magazines, compare them brand new to the brand new Bushmasters.
Then use both magazines.
I think you will find the Brownells better than Bushmaster magazines.
I have AR magazines from just about every manufacturer including, Military, Bushmaster, Colt, and Pro-Mag(don't buy these.) and have come to the conclusion the Brownell magazines are the best thing going.

The Brownell mags aren't Mil-Spec,,,they exceed mil-spec standards.

I'm not trying to be contrary. I'm also new to ARs, so I'm still trying to figure out the "magazine" thing (which ones are good, etc). That said, my Bushmaster mags have been flawless in operation. How can that be improved upon?

I'm also a big fan of Brownell's, but just don't see how their mags could be equal or superior to Labelle's teflon-coated, mil-spec mags. Maybe they are. I've had a trade discount account with Brownell's for years and do a lot of business with them. They sell a lot of quality merchandise; they also sell some crappy merchandise.

$11.25 a mag. Get 'em while they're hot!

Other than the Brownells name on the baseplate, I can't find any difference between them and any US contract mag. Time will tell.

I did forget to mention the current style followers and chrome silicone springs.

I also need to say the little American flag stickers on the packaging brought a smile to my face.

How do you get the C&R discount from them? Do I just send my C&R to the "contact us" address on their site and then call them up to order?

I searched all over their site and couldn't find anything specifically relating to C&R licenses.

Didn't find anything when I looked too, I already had signed up for an account, sent them my signed copy of my C&R and a short letter saying I was looking forward to doing business. Followed it up approx. 2 wks. later w/ an email to see if it got there, they replied it did, signed into acct., went to store and now had two sets of prices there. Pretty much the same at Midway. There may be other ways but that's what worked for me.

Don't forget Grafs! Everyone sends their C&R to Brownells and Midway, but Grafs is often overlooked. Their website makes it sounds like only Type 01 licensees qualify, but if you send in a Type 03 you'll still get dealer pricing.
