I'm glad they are planning to make the FN belt fed. At least that will be legal in Kali.

I don't mean to take this thread off topic, but I am a little unclear about this 50 Freak. From my understanding a semi-auto FN MAG, or any belt fed weapon with a pistol grip would be illegal in California, since a belt holds the same legal status as a magazine. I hope I am wrong, but this is the understanding of the law that I have.

The FN2000 bullpup rifle does not eject downward (the FN P90 does), it ejects "forward" thanks to an ejection tunnel, they bounce down the little tunnel from the right-side ejection port and then just fall out the front. Apparently, a very old idea they borrowed from the 1904 Maxim MG.

it solves the weak-side or lefty-needs-a-conversion bullpup, any idiot regardless of lefty/righty can fire it as is.

I'll kiss every last one of you if this is true and Steyr is releasing a domestic AUG within the next year or so. I've been thinking about buying a real AUG recentlyand if I can save $2000, I'll be more than happy.

Is it possible for someone to find out how to contact Steyr to confirm this and find out more concrete info?

PS - Let's all hope that steyr releases an AUG and not that abortion in the picture.

Grand, don't start puckering yet! :D You can just shake my hand. :p

Anywho, cannot see ATFE allowing productiong of this. If I were a betting man [ :D], I'd wager this is just fodder for the Errornet rumour mill like the HK rumor--bearthread alert.

No way the feds would allow domestic production.

Why not? As long as it's semi-automatic only, I don't see how they could stop them. They let FN make the semi-auto F2000. They let various companies make semi-auto M60s.

I fail to see why you think they'd single out Steyr/DSA.

I got a pamphlet at the Steyr-Mannlicher booth at the NRA convention last week which indicated they will be selling an AUG in the US next year. The booth rep said they would be producing it domestically to avoid the import ban. Picture of the pamphlet here.

Whats more important in that pic is that Steyr WILL be releasing an S version of their new A1 pistol :D
(look at the entry above the AUG...the guys at Steyr had said they where going to drop the S as it wasn't different enough from the M ... obviously the guys over in Austria don't CCW IWB 24/7)

Well, that's just ducky.

I hope the guys at DSA are reading this ...

If I could make one humble request -

COULD YOU GUYS PLEASE RE-WORK THE TRIGGER ON THAT RIFLE? :barf:

Thanks. That is all, carry on.

Maybe he's looking to purchase a spade grip version, therefore no pistol grip. All he would need would be a nice mount or if he's like Charles Bronson, he'll hold it by the barrel when he's shooting it.

Good point. I hadn't thought about the use of a spade grip on the M240. I guess the only hurdle would be to get one in that setup from FN. That is, if they decide on selling them to civilians.
