Ok, who makes good revolvers?
I'm racking my brain tonight, but it's late, and I'm tired.
S&W
Ruger
Rossi
Taurus
Uberti
who else? anyone else worth buying?

You forgot Colt ? They did make some passable revolvers . Rossi ? up for debate

Plus...

EMF - Great Western II's are are Pietta rather than Uberti
USFA - US made Colt SAA's
Hartford Armory - US made Remington 1875's & 1890's

Colt, Dan Wesson, USFA (Peacemaker makers in the original Colt plant).

Manurhin. Korth. Llama (not terribly good, but they work). The Manurhin is basically a super-high-end version of a Ruger, and a VERY good gun. The Korth is a Python on steroids, basically handbuilt.

" The Manurhin is basically a super-high-end version of a Ruger, and a VERY good gun."

One of their models is really a Ruger-clone, but most of them are not. The top-model (the best of their line) is the MR73, which is a Smith and Wesson-derivative.

Other revolver manufacturers:
- Weihrauch (Germany)
- Alfa (Czech Republic)
- Kora (above)
- CZ (above, no revolvers today, but they made great ones in the past)
- Janz Labortechnik (Germany)
- Renato Gamba (Italy)
- Bernardelli (Italy)
- ERMA (Germany - bankrupcy in 1997)

"How about

NAA mini revolvers!"

Ohh yessss, and I even have one of those mini-bangers:))

Score card

You need a score card to keep track. S&W and Taurus parted ways, some time after Taurus took over Rossi. Since then S&W has been in cahoots with Dan Wesson who have just been taken over by CZ. Meanwhile S&W is in bed with Walther. FN makes Winchesters, while Winchester doesn't, Baikal will be sold under the Remintgton label, etc., etc., you get the idea.

More:

Armscor (out of the Philippines) is supposed to make a reasonable Colt copy. I've never seen one in person.

I did actually have an Astra 357 for a while before it become trade-in fodder. It looked sort like a combination between an N-frame S&W and Colt Trooper. Fit and finish was very good, and accuracy was fine as well. It also had a neat adjustable main spring.

Charter 2000 makes revolvers in .44Spl, .38Spl, .357Mag, .22Mag & .22lr. These are lightweight and are excellent CCW weapons.

Oh, yeah. I completely forgot about Iver-Johnson, H&R, Webley, and the good old Mosin-Nagant.

Didn't Miroku also make a DS knock-off that was supposed to be decent back in the 1970s?
