Florida Shoot?

Looks like I will be out of commission for a while. I had a TEE and failed. The leaking valve in my heart is getting worse and now they want to go in and repair it. I don't think I'll be able to do much shooting until the old sternum is healed up. :uhoh:

Don't know what a TEE is- some kind of test I presume? Good luck with that- we'll be sending prayers for a speedy recovery. You could maybe come to the next one as a photographer. Bring your wife and we'll just have to help you resist the urge to take aim n pull the trigger. Keep you shutter happy- this way we'll get some action photos! Give yourself all the rest you need to heal up well- and keep us informed. You're not too far away so if there's anything we can do- just let us know :)

TEE is an echo sound done from the inside. The transponder is run down the throat to get in behind the heart to make the pictures and do the measurements better than an external echo sound can.
We sure don't want to miss out on any shooting. Repairs (heart sugery) have not been scheduled yet.
Fenrik, please more details I've never been there.

Fenrick--- tell us about it. Post a link if they have a website. Anybody have any ideas on a date? I'm lookin' at- earliest possible- sometime late May or June. Not soon enough to suit me but life just got even busier than it was before. Virtually impossible for me to get it on the schedule until the end of May- at best. It never ends :banghead:

range time

Looks like 3'rd or 4'th week of May before things settle down, unless the other range allows 50 BMG rifles, I'll have to go to the Manatee range (I promised the lawyer doing my closing a chance to shoot it  )

I'll be out of commision for a bit. Can I come and watch?
My last chance to go shooting is 4/30 so I'm going to Manatee with the missus. :)

P5, my closing is the 26'th so I might be able to join you there, I'll see about bringing my understanding lady along also (took her over 5 years but she finally got me to say "yes, I'm a gun nut. :neener: )

I'll bring an assortment and probably the 50 if you want a shot, give a shout.

Don't think I'll be making it on the 30th. Just too much on the schedule this month. Ya'll have fun n say hello to Mrs. P5 for me! Maybe a monthly thing would work- we'd like you to be there, shootin' or not. Somebody to take action photos would be outstanding! Jeff had the digital camera though. Itote has one, if he can make the next fruckus. Can't see me spending the money for one right now- much as I'd like to. Good grief- it would be so much more helpful if I could just win the lotto! Is that askin' too much? :D

P5

Looks like my wife can't make it then, however just to give you a chance early on to sqeeze off a few before surgery, I think it would be worth it.

It is one of the ones bought through a group buy, check out the Serbu site, seems it had a better grouping than Barrett or any other manufactuer.

Hey, the thing isn't even sighted in yet, if we hit the birm (at 600 yds.) we'll be lucky, no iron sights, so I mounted and neutraled a scope! No bore site or anything here.! At the time we get up there it will be NIB condition. So first round is mine :) even if I don't hit anything!

So P5 lets try to set up. The 28th or 29th look best.

Lil38

Its off HWY 40 east of silver springs on road 88. Its a free public range. 100 yard rifle/pistol range about 12 lanes w/ 4 benches. Also there is a shotgun range as well. Its pretty basic and essentially in the middle of no where.

I usually go in the early am and have the place to myself for a while. Although weekends it can be busy. Its closed wed until noon and the 4th saturday of every month.

If anyone is interested in going let me know. I work nights so I can go just about any day of the week.

this map dosent help much but its right off nfr-88

Sorry to hear that, maybe in May we can do a light (under .50 rifle) shoot, and set up for another shoot ( hopefully in June) when you feel up to it.

How long did the Doc. say before you could get active again?

Two hours from home, less than a 100 miles.

Not a bad run.

Geoff
Who will be able to make it in May or June, hopefully on a weekend., but I'm easy.

Doc says it depends on me and how well I heal. Rough schdule has about 6 weeks and maybe back to work. My employer provides 12 weeks of 60% pay for disablity and I'd like to get the full benefit if the Doc will go along with it. I've not had a vacation for 4 years due to losing a job to NAFTA and having to start all over again 3 years ago.
I'm supposed to be up and walking around some the day after surgery, I'll bet that's going to hurt.
Jeff Timm, Sorry to hear you had a bout of bad health. Is everything going OK for you?

P5 Guy asked, "Jeff Timm, Sorry to hear you had a bout of bad health. Is everything going OK for you?"

It's not bad health, it's keeping me in good health, just a little cancer. Does mean I have to carry my medical history instead of remembering it though, details at www.geofftimm.com.

It also means two weeks with mechanical bypass installed through an unmentionable orafice.

Geoff
Who is tough. :cuss:

Dang Geoff mechanical bypasses anywhere don't sound too good. Get better quick so I can take some pictures of you at the next Frukus.

Good grief!! Haven't had time to check in 'til now- ya'll get better soon! I'll be prayin' for speedy recoveries. Let's consider the ONL fruckus. Fenrick, you should join us. I'm open for anytime after May 15th. That may be too soon for some, just sayin' that's the earliest possible for me. Would like to go back to Manatee too. Nice place they have there. Still open for some other suggestions as well. C'mon ya'll- let's hear about where ya like to go! :)

So, nobody can come on Saturday 4/30.
I'll be at Manatee Gun and Archery 10 'til 2 doing my last shooting for a few months. I'll keep in touch when I'm recovering.

Dang it- I'm missin' it...

According to your post, you'll be pullin' the trigger in about an hour. I know you'll be havin' a great time! :) It's just paining me that I can't go!!!!! :( Definitely need another day of boom-boomin' at the range. Gotta get another fruckus planned soon. Didn't get any more input for new places yet. Manatee works for me, it's a cool range. Good luck with your surgery- my prayers will be with you and the Mrs. Get well soon, too. I'm gonna go pout while I'm doin' the yard work. Wanna read all about it when you get a chance to post. Not sure when I'll get time to get back here to check it. Haven't touched my keyboard in a week. Gotta figure out how to get less sleep in order to get more done :what: Anyone tried that? Does it work?!!!

I'll be at the range in ONF tommrow around 7-10 am. I'll get some pics of the place so you guys can see what its like. Also, I have the 9-15 of may off so I'll probibly make 2-3 range trips that week as well. Ya'll are more than welcome to join me.

Lil38, I've tried the sleep thing. it works for a few days, but then I gotta sleep 14 hours strait to make it up...

Would love to be at ONF. Don't have any free time 'til late May or after. New endeavour (SCUBA classes) is consuming all my spare time until I get certified. (May 14th) Pics of your trip would be great- can't wait to see 'em! Don't leave us hangin'- post 'em as soon as you can! :) Haven't heard from Geoff lately- you doin' OK there tough guy? Will check your .com before I sign-off. Take care all! Happy n safe shootin'- until we meet again! The lapse of time between the get-togethers seems like eternity to me but will make the reunion very sweet! :p
