It is probably already on its way to its new owner.

The synergy of this gun just radiates.

C.T Brian, Ted Yost, Steve Bailey

An amazing piece!

Ok...Ok...........

I know there is a couple of you out there saying:
"It's pretty, but can it shoot?"

Well, take a look:

Dark,
I believe this gun sold for $4k.
The new Ford/Chevy/Dodge p/u costs 10X as much, and depreciates that much as soon as you drive it off the lot.
A functional work of art such as this, will still be defending your family 5 or more generations down the line!

Nice, this gun really appeals to me. Other than the beavertail it is the ideal 1911 configuration for me.

And good luck getting anything close to $4k if you ever decide to sell.

If you shot a gun as much as you drove a truck, it'd depreciate like crazy too.

Apples to oranges.

A quality car used in a manner that could best be described as normal, say 10 - 12K miles per year, depreciates much more quickly than a quality firearm that is used in a likewise normal manner.

Where can one get grips like that? I like the way they cover the MSH pin. Are they strictly custom, or does someone mass produce them?

G-d is in the details

Two aspects of the metalwork that strike me as unique (have never seen them before anyway): The tight radiusing of the slide nose, with that little curly return, and the french cut above the bevel...amazingly elegant work. I do second Gary's feelings about the beavertail...

Funny thing is, I've owned and sold expensive Burns and Yost guns. I've gotten ~90-95% of what I put into them, and found buyers in a matter of days. They aren't exactly a profit center, but if the guns are in good condition you don't take it in the pants, either. There is a market for these things, and not having to wait years to get one is worth something to the consumer, too.
