Lately i have been thinking a lot about dying. Eventually my time will come. And i was thinking that i would like to be buried with my gun with me (ill be tactful and leave all but ONE to my decendents)

does anybody else share this thought? Is it uncommon? If you would take a pistol with you would you want it in your hand loaded?

Hmmm i wonder if there are any regulations against this sort of thing (if not, somebody will start one after reading this!)

So how about you all, im sure most of you have more gun enthusiesm in one finger than in my entire body so im sure you already have it in your will, what do you think?

My weapons are for the protection of life. Not for life after death. They'll be left to my Daughter.
Kind of a morbid post. What got you thinking of this?
The end isn't here yet so just keep bangin away.

You may think it is morbid, but i don't. Anyway it is more of a symbol thing. Some people have a small good luck charm, or a watch. Would you strip it from them saying they have no use for it in the afterlife?

BTW! i hope this doesn't turn into a thread about religon! ;)

*edit well i was packing up some things (i just got an apartment) and i was holding my dads old S&W model 41. he was really big onto guns and when he passed away he willed it to me. I was thinking that i wanted to take it with me when i passed so i could have some sort of connection. But then again i wanted to leave it for my first kid. I will probably leave it for my first child but take something else with me :)

Actually I have often thought of the same thing.

I've wondered if I would also take along my trusty Glock with me in my casket. (Could be fun, as I plan to have it loaded and want to be cremated) :neener: :neener: :neener:

But seriously now, when my grandfather passed. My grandmother left in his coffin a little music box that he had for decades and loved. I wondered if my wife would leave my G in my coffin.

In olden times, a warrior was always buried with his weapons, armor and in some cultures, his wife (dead or alive  ). Tradesmen were also buried with their tools and so on.

lee n. field, what are you referring to?

50 freak, you better take your glock with you, because nobody else will want it!!!! j/k im actually a glock fan myself ;)

JERK!!!!!!! Glock-blasphemer!!!!!!! :neener: :neener:

Wonder if I can fit my 50 cal in the coffin????

I hope my kids have more sense than to bury a perfectly good gun. I agree w/ Mr. Justice. It would be more of an honor to me for my heirs to keep my tools for use.

I see a cool SHTF movie idea here...The world has gone the way of the Handmaids Tale or any similar story...Your grandkids read in your journal that you had wanted to be buried with some of your guns. They go and dig you up and find a few dozen black rifles..and maybe some black pistols. :)

Ammo too.

Kind of like your own personal Da Vinci Code.

I want to be buried in coffin full of Jennings, Brycos, TEC-9's, and any other junk gun available. Getting rid of these P.O.S. guns will be my last public service. My Colt's, Kimbers, S&W's, CZ's, and SIG's will be left to the living for future generations to enjoy. :)

You can request anything and everything, but since you will then be dead and have absolutely no control over anything what is the point?

Heck yeah, I want some protection while I'm crossing the River Styx!
But, you gotta be careful some unscupulous mortician doesn't snag your piece.

joe4702 that is exactly what my mom mentioned to me when i told her about it. But then again i bet wedding rings are higher on their priority list. Which leads me to my next profession. the shady gravedigger!

majic, read 50 freak's first post and maybe you have an answer to your question. Plus what if somebody close to you said they had a possession, like a small music box, or perhaps a trinket. Would you simply say "what's the point"?

Cremation for me, thanks all the same. My guns are to be sold and the proceeds divided between the N.R.A. and the G.O.A.

When I get to that great shooting range in the sky, I expect to be issued factory-fresh High Standards and Pythons, plus plenty of free ammunition and targets.

"Death is a debt which I am not yet ready to pay"

Nope. If I don't live long enough to live forever via medical/technological means, I'll use the Black Arts to become a Lich.

No casket for me. When I kick off, I've specified that there is to be no embalming, no casket, no vault. Just a simple linen shroud and buried in the soil, so the elements I've accumulated over the years get recycled.

fjolnirsson:
Absolutely. At least one pistol and a long gun of some sort, as well as a sword. Probably my armour, as well.
I would have thought you required a flaming ship pushed out to sea, your body aboard, surrounded by gold and weapons as the gods weep over the mischief that killed you. :D

I think that you migh better check the laws in your state. I don't believe that such a burial would be legal in many states.

If you've specified such in a will, then I suppose the attorney would have advised you of any applicable laws. But then, I've had several attorneys who took the money and then didn't do the job I paid for.

I like my gun and don't expect it to die just because I have to . I'll let mine live and go on to be all it can be.

Ashes to the wind would make it hard to carry anyway .
