I'll be going up to the Manatee range on the 15th of May, going to try out the big rifle and bring along assorted others pieces. Hopefully will see some of you up there.

Just checkin' in. Post those pics! Can't go on 5/15, will be busy that weekend. :( How about the first part of June? Anyone up for it? Sheesh- I can't stand missin' all the action!

Thanks for the concern folks, I'm recovering nicely...well with some scatalogical humor that has my wife saying things like, "Just like when I was pregnant!" and other equally frightening comments.

Geoff
Who is really improving, but things don't always improve at the same rates, semi-autonomous unit is improving in pressure and weight of action, but lacking in C3 (Command, control and communications.) :cuss:

In on May 1st out on May 6th and doing good. Keep shooting up a Frukus where ever you can. I'm going to be stuck shootin' .22LR for a time. If I can keep up with these posts I'll try and be a spectator at some of the next ones.
Me the Mrs. and two friends did some shooting on the 30th of April. I hit the big white board on the 500m berm half the time then.

I still can't get too far from a "facility" but I'm improving every day.

I want to check out the ONL site as soon as I can.

Geoff
Who didn't know what to ask the Doctor. :cuss:

Sorry to just jump in here! I just moved down from PA and i already found teneroc and have been shooting there. If someone's going there i would like to shoot with them for the day be nice to have a partner to shoot with. That manatee range is what iv'e been looking for though but a 2 hr ride for me unless i find a quicker way. I have a Panther Arms LR308 :D and 100 yrds is childsplay for it, be nice to go longer distances.

Corolla:

I'm close to Teneroc and could meet you there most any day. Give me a shout through PM or email (leathercraft-at-hotmail.com).

Got up to the Manatee range on Sunday, sorry no one else could make it. My wife and I had a good time, she got to try some pistols ( first time shooting handguns), and we shot the .50. Going to have to remount the scope since we couldn't get enough elevation to be on target at 560 m., got close though with Kentucky windage.

So when would anyone else like to make another attempt?

Range Day in Central Fla

I am putting an announcement on this (RallyingPoint) section about a BBQ / Shoot day that the club I belong to in Haines City (Central Florida) is having.

Saturday June 4th - Central Florida Shooters Save the Date

Regards,

Tim

Thanks guys!

I'm in pretty good shape, all things considered. I go off the FLOWMAX (TM) which is extreamly descriptive name for a drug, on Thursday. I'm taking the LONG weekend, Thurs thru Monday (National Holiday) in hopes of celebrating at the Range.

I usually go to http://www.bullseyegun.com/index.shtml for the indoor range, I'm a member.

I'm hoping to check out the ONL site this long weekend and get the wife to test a new pistol. I'll post a report afterward. I'd rather she had a Wonder9 for defense, over a six shot .22 LR revolver.

Geoff
Who likes the piece as well. :D

Welcome to the fruckus!!!

I'm glad to see the new posts and that some members hooked up with JeffTimm! Let us know how the ONF thing works out! I could possibly make the Haines City trip on June 4th... where is it??? Anyone else up for it? Wanna do Manatee again, too! Been extemely busy tryin' to launch new web site. Ya'll can check it out www.outdoorsforwomen.com I'm still working on it. Give me another day or two, to add some pages and links. Hope to get new High Roaders. I'll be putting the THR link on there and some women related RTKBA links. I have "hooked-up" with 3 fishing guides, so far, and I'll have guided hunts and firearms instruction available. (Central FL area to start) Although it's name suggests it's for women, there'll be stuff for the fellas too. Eventually, I can get out of this Mack and make a living doin' the things I love most :D (at least, that's the plan... ya gotta dream big, right?) This weekend, I'll be tryin' to get this all done. I know I'll be needin' a break from it ( I'm still a computer dummy, so it can get frustrating :cuss: ) Lemme know about the Haines City thing! Be back soon....

Space Coaster looking...

New shooter with "old" hand interested in people that might be getting together on the Atlantic side of the peninsula...

Anyone out there done so in the past? There's a nice (at least to my inexperienced eye) outdoor range north of Vero just off I 95. Easy drive for most people along the I95 corridor from Daytona south to West Palm (about equidistant at around 1.5 hours driving). Anyone got a list going for when the heat passes next fall?

Well, I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to meet up with ya'll cause I'm moving to georgia in a month or so.

I'll try to squeeze a range trip in there sometime, but it'll be a busy month.

Good luck to ya! I've noted as FL gets so durn expensive folks who can are departing the state and GA is where the FL folks go for huntin' 'cause there's so little huntin' land left in FL.

Geoff
Who is working on his FL accent, and may have to learn to fish again. Now, let's see, the Army told me to use a 1/4 lb block of TNT and a 60 second fuse in shallow water...

cjz_sig asked, "New shooter with "old" hand interested in people that might be getting together on the Atlantic side of the peninsula..."

We had our first Fruckus on the East Side, we are trying to get one together in June at the Ocala National Forest Recreation Area range, I-95 to SR 40 E.
It's located near the corner of SR 40 and SR 88 in the middle of the National Forest. No charge, only 100 yds maximum range. With a Separate range for shotguns. Favors old coots with poor vision who like pistols and shotguns. :D

I haven't been there yet, still recovering from above mentioned intrusive proceedures and the aftermath, including the sticker shock from my 10% contribution under FepBlue. "Oh, the PAIN."

Geoff
Who wishes he wuz rich, instead o' good lookin! :what:

Well, Fenrik, good luck to ya! We'll still see ya on The High Road, right? I mean, ya just got on board! I'm right smack in the middle of the state. I'm up for a fruckus pretty much anywhere. I would have to take a dive if I'm that close to the ocean though. Can't wait to start huntin' underwater :D I've heard spearfishing is on it! I'm just checkin' in before I bury myself with webhosting. Probably gonna take me a couple of days to get back here. Hope everyone is recovering well. Have a safe and Happy Memorial Day weekend!!!

Jeff, yup Florida is getting too expensive. Thats the main reason I'm moving, and probibly why most of my family will eventually follow me.

Lil 38, spearfishing is a blast. Although I haven't done any latly its one thing I WILL miss. Back when I was in college and had no money a buddy and I used to fish off hallandale beach. We couldn't afford a boat so we have to swim out to the fish. Talk about exercise!

Just back from ONF Range. Sorry the camera batteries (both sets) died on me, my wife sez she told me..a serious "Yes Dear" Situation, familar to husbands everywhere.

Take SR-40 West 42.5 miles to Park Road 88. There is a sign but no warning.

The place is social unacceptable to my lady wife, no facilities, not even a port-a-potty (TM).

I used the woods across the road. My apologies to the black bear, I was not marking territory, it was just a necessity. Which said bear rightly investigated as I was departing in a hurry. They grow some BIG blackies down here!

So, I suggest seeking another East Coast Location, more suitable to the Talk-Shoot - Drink re-hydrating liquids, talk shoot, maybe lunch... whatever agenda, sought by Fruckus' everywhere. Shade away from the Firing Line, far enough to remove the hearing/eye protection etc.

Geoff
Who is willing to improvise, but My Lady Wife likes a more civilized support facility, better than a path, little house and hole.

I did find some pics on the memory card, onc new batteries were inserted.

One shot of the 100 yard range the other the hand trap range.

Geoff
Who wouldn't mind if it were closer.

Well, that didn't work, back to the drawing board. :cuss:
